How many people remember Like A Prayer ? This fabulous masterpiece from Madonna first came out in 1989 as we were all about to start our young lives as First Year College Freshers in Delhi University . This brings back so many memories good as well as extremely bad too . But anyway you gotta express yourself in this mean world of mean people everywhere . We will have to let go and move on forward with our lives if we want to achieve success in our individual lives in this extremely mean world of extremely mean people everywhere .

@NewIdentity It was originally aired with the Pettibone's remix. In the Immaculate Collection it was changed to an edit of the album version with arrangements added from the remix, and they even trimmed the video's end. So no.

In reference to this video specifically, this is of her own doing and she is chained to her own desires, not those of any man. This is her vision. This is my favorite music video of all time, hands down. I was around 4 years old when this video aired, and it's stuck with me all these years. Every single shot is framed perfectly. The colors, the lighting, the shadows, the variation between each verse and chorus. The storytelling is wonderfully executed. The framing of each scene plays a role, and the editing is top tier. The small details play a large part: each color scheme and outfit, the second verse with her in shadow behind the screen, the musicians inside a glass display, even down to the bowl of milk. I was 16 when this came out and I feel the same way about it now that I did then. It's fn amazing. I agree w you...the lighting, colors, her diff styles even the black cat. Madonna and David Fincher together is 🔥! Oh and I almost forgot...that hair! Esp the quick back shot at 3:42 where she pours the milk down her back and you can see how blunt and beautiful that haircut was. That little snippet was one of the inspirations for me to become a hairdresser. I need to find out who did that cut! Like you said, it's the little things.

This video is mostly based on the famous movie Metroplis by Fritz Lang which is a movie circa 1920s/30s and the dehumanisation of the working class but that it doesn't have to be that way. Worth a watch!

I'd consider this and Vogue to be the highwater marks of Madonna's video career. These were real works of art in collaboration with Fincher, packed with cultural references and "homages," just beautiful to look at and perfectly showcasing Madonna as a performer and "muse of herself."

Just learned some new tea about this legendary song. There's two versions of the song, an album version which is produced by Stephen Bray and the music video version which was produced by Shep Pettibone. Apparently Stephen Bray told Madonna he'll never work with her again after releasing Shep Pettibone's version with the music video. He never did again after that lol

This song has helped me a lot in my dating life. I've always listened to it when i questioned the guy i was dating or was interested in. It put this sort of power over me and made me more confidante and realize second best is never enough. You'll do much better baby on your own. This is now one of my anthems.

Just read today that Madonna wrote this for Jennifer Grey when she was dating Matthew Broderick while filming Ferris Bueller. Apparently they’re still friends but met on a movie they made in the 80s and were such great friends at this time, Madonna threw Jennifer a 29th birthday bash in 1989. I can’t imagine having an iconic song written and sung by a living icon, sung about a relationship you were in. Pretty cool story nonetheless.
