I am more of an expert on harmonies, and MB14’s harmonies on his first round showed a deep understanding of harmonic progression and contrary melody lines. He not only didn’t limit himself to octaves and fifths as you mentioned, but the lines didn’t follow the exact same pattern, moving around in ways which were harmonically pleasing yet at least partially independent. He brought out the fullness of the chords he was working with (vi-III-IV-V) and it was that fullness of harmonic sound that made this round so memorable instead of lacklustre. If his chords were less full, this round would have been a complete downer; instead, it is still one of the best musical loops I’ve ever heard in a performance.

After the last round of Saro, MB14 had no option than to team up with him. #RIPMB14

I've already seen this multiple times but i still tear up and get chills from Saro's second round.

Saro isn't the best beatboxer, not the best singer.. but by FAR the best ''looper''.. He really has great control over his tech; he layers things so quickly and cleanly; and every second of his performance adds something meaningful.. He's unbeatable in my mind.

I think there will never be another looper that will influence the scene and dominate like Saro did in the short period where he was competing. He just appeared at the right time, where loopstation was already pretty advanced but with still a lot of things left to explore and even today these beats could compete with current ones
