Hi, this is not an attempt at being an ass, I believe what Chris brings to the hobby is next level, I own 4 of these frames, and have flown them around 4 months now. Unfortunately, although this frame 100% flies amazingly clean, the front cam protection is inadequate. One single medium head on with a tree or the ground, which will happen, and the cage breaks, One side usually fails and presses in and upwards. The slots for the camera positioning break as well. Had two frames, on both, their 1st crash the cam plates gave up and damaged the camera every time. I have one active build left and only reason it is intact is because I have never crashed it - I fly these for commercial purposes. My Apex freestyle is still as is 3 years later, bulletproof after millions of epic crashes later - only ever swap motors and props.

I've managed to hit a tree so hard that it was literally stuck in the bark, sticking out from the tree. The frame was perfectly fine. I've only broken one arm so far but it was a really hard concrete hit. The amount of available space in the frame is ridiculous - you could probably put two complete stacks in there and still have room left. I don't know about the BNF but the frame is amazing. Do not get the countersunk screw version though, as it's screws are prone to stripping.

How about the antenna placement? The original antenna is mounted right behind the battery, I would assume that it might block the signal. You also had RX failure with the DJI remote, which also points to bad antenna placement. Other than that the quad looks amazing.

Would have been one of the best frames iv had if the arm screws did not tighten into standoffs. Alu standoffs strip way to easy, and you can't tighten enough. Also the arm screws were super short with only a few threads in standoff. Changed all to longer ones. Ideally it would have separate screws with pressnuts or just pressnuts underneath the standoffs.

@justinslaight

I’m my experience in the past going on 5 years of flying, jello is can come from the slightest of crashes, slightest of bent prop. I didn’t notice any jello in this particular video, but I’m watching from a phone. I’ve even had a screw come loose on my fpv cam causing jello. The best solution Ive come up with so far is either 1. Swap to kiss. 2. Use a action cam with hyper smooth.

I love the arms on his frames, but don't like the wide part in the middle. Function over form I guess. And I wonder how the slots for the camera plates will fair after a few head on crashes. Propellers are a matter of taste, but are those HQ props? The really stiff ones? Maybe I had bad luck with old stock or something but they're among the worst I've ever had. Can't straighten them and they break easily in cold weather ..and I hated how they felt in the air. Thanks Ian thanks Chris!

@@audiogek It's not just an issue for the battery strap but more importantly the power lead. If you crash and turtle out of it the lead can become vulnerable without the pilot knowing. For me I would likely end up putting 4.5" props on this frame and using slightly higher KV motors. I have done this in the past and it actually had a positive effect on performance. However I'm certainly no expert judge.

That's a tricky question at the moment as no one has a definitive answer if the V2 will work with 03 when released i know it's been said they will but hey it's DJI you're dealing with. Plus if in the UK the pound has tanked against the dollar and shit just got more expensive. Get a cheap second hand pair of V2's and go with a vista build. Or better still go analogue and learn to fly on the cheap before lashing out silly money on a HD Build.

@@moozerfpv3720 i was looking a lot on analog, but now i have firmly decided to go with dji, because it's a huge difference. Although i do not like that it's super closed. Ugliest frame ever and I'm not convinced the point on the arms where the trusses meet is durable. I know it's great from a resonance performance standpoint, but I feel the V1 arm design was superior. Love the frame. Love Chris Rosser. But I fucking hate iFlight. Nothing but bad experiences and wasted money...and I've wasted $1000's on iFlight trash...never again tho. So many stacks that flake out, no quality control, no support/replacement for DOA products, stolen/cloned frame design, intentional changes to frames to force users to buy more accessories, support is poor and intentionally delays and belabors the user. Motors are decent but overpriced and bad durability; their unibell motors are weaker than 2 part motors.... So I'm stoked for the frame, but Fuck IFlight. I hope people stop wasting money on their products, but they have a very strong affiliate marketing program, give away hardware to reviewers, and get constant praise as a result. Meanwhile, their users come to me every day for support dealing with iFlight's janky products. We've started calling them iMight, because iMight fall out of the sky on a bad esc 🤣 This is a company with a history of preying on new users and cloning other FPV products... came to say "fuck iFlight" i've said it 3 times now; I can let myself out. I think iFlight has had a reputation for terrible, non existent customer service for quite some time. Years! I avoid them with every purchase. People seem to love their motors, but it's their electronics that are awful. If they have a defect with a quad they offer, like their 2.5" Cinewhoop with the guards not the ducts, I forget the exact name... They don't take care of you and fix it, even though they acknowledge the defect. They send you the parts and you are the repair center! You have to disassemble the entire quad and resolder in the new parts! There is no service from them. You do all of the work, even if you have no idea how to solder, you must learn, because they do no actually fixing of the quad! Imagine you buy a BMW car. It fails, they acknowledge it's a bad part, so they send you the part and you have to take apart your car and repair it yourself! You're the service tech! When this comes up, they should either replace the quad with one with the new fixed parts, or have you send the entire quad to them and they fix it and send it back to you with no charges and no shipping costs. It's their fault, they know it, but they still won't take care of you, you have to repair it yourself! Many don't know how to do that. 😭🤷🙄 I will never buy their products because their customer service is non existent! 😫

You haven't had an issue... YET! When you do, they will acknowledge it's their problem, but not fix it. They make you fix it yourself with many not knowing how to do that! No exchange, no sending it in to get fixed! You must do it all yourself - newbie or not! If they put out a defective product right out of the box, they should be responsible for exchanging it for a new one. Not sending you parts and saying fix it! That's bullshit! I don't buy a brand new BNF that ends up being defective, and me having to take it apart, solder everything back on to new parts, and reassemble it, myself! I am not a service tech for iFlight! They sell me a bad product - exchange it! Fix it yourself! I am not your "free labor" service tech! You fucked up your product, you fix it or exchange it for a new one! Every company in the world does it that way. They recall cars with problems. They don't send us the parts and say "repair your car, here ya go". Never will I ever buy from iFlight! 🤮🤬🖕
