Spanish big cities are the best in Europe. if Madrid and Barcelona were one, and all the effort put in both was joint, there's no doubt the resulting city would be the greatest in Europe by a large margin, well ahead of London and Paris, indeed.

This proves that most international cities are the same. It's better to visit the countryside to experience the true culture of the country. I can get this same vibe in NYC, Miami, LA, London, Paris, etc...........

I thought there would be less light in Madrid. Spain adopted the law "Apagar la luz" that obliges to switch off light ads, signage, shop windows, building illumination and other excessive intrusive light after 10 PM. Probably, the time here is earlier than 10 PM, but too much light. Those disgusting LED digital billboards epecially ruin the city and there are too many of them. Madrid looks much nicer after 10 PM when most of this light is off,
