MADRID, SPAIN - Welcome to Madrid and today I’m hanging out with my friend @spainrevealed from Spain Revealed, and we’re going to take you on an ultimate Spanish food tour, specifically eating dishes that are local in Madrid. From churros to snails and tapas to cocido Madrileño, get ready for the ultimate Spanish food tour in Madrid!
Here are all the places we went to eat in this tour:
Chocolat (g.page/Chocolat-Madrid?share) - We started with churros at Chocolat, one of the best places you’ll find in the city. They make them fresh and serve them with creamy chocolate. The perfect way to start a day in Madrid.
La Casa del Abuelo (goo.gl/maps/rKw5QNi8cRon3vvD7) - Next up, James and I started with a tapas crawl, first heading to La Casa del Abuelo for their amazing shrimp cooked with garlic and olive oil in a clay pan. They are delicious, especially with some house wine.
Casa Toni (goo.gl/maps/upxpEfSaysggDkrc8) - Next up for Casa Toni, another legendary tapas bar in Madrid, known for organ meats like pig ears on the hot plate and sweet breads. Again, a delicious friendly place, and very Madrid culture.
Restaurante Casa Amadeo los Caracoles (goo.gl/maps/d86FSKqBEZZKjs2j7) - One of my favorite places this entire Spanish food tour in Madrid was Restaurante Casa Amadeo los Caracoles, that’s a tapas bar that specializes in snails cooked with chili and all sorts of pig parts and sausages for flavor. Amadeo the owner is 93 years old and he’s so energetic with a heart of gold. He taught us how to eat some of his favorite dishes.
Posada de la Villa (g.page/posada-de-la-villa?share) - Next up we continued to Posada de la Villa for roasted lamb. Again legendary, and so good!
Malacatín (g.page/Malacatin?share) - Finally to complete this food tour, there’s no way we could miss cocido Madrileño, a Madrid specialty that includes soup made from a variety of meats, with chickpeas, meats, vegetables. It’s the ultimate heavy meal comfort food and something you have to eat when you’re in Madrid.
Thank you for watching and hope you enjoyed this ultimate Spanish food tour in Madrid!
Thank you again to @spainrevealed - wouldn’t have been possible without him. Go check out his channel and videos.

I worked in the industry for years, often in open kitchens where the diners could see what was going on. I never understood kitchens that had a “don’t eat anything because they can see you” policy. I don’t trust a cook who will feed me something he won’t eat himself. To see that old man consume his own food with so much gusto tells you it MUST be good.

I lived in Madrid for 3 years, we agree with my wife that those have been the best years of our lives in every way, both professionally and in terms of quality of life. When I see Mark enjoying these delicacies, it's hard not to remember those wonderful years. I still have the hidden desire to return to live in Madrid and visit those bars and enjoy its people and its food. Greetings from Chile.

25:30 ya no thanks I'll pass on the snails , I don't understand how anyone can eat snails , I'll pass because that looks disgusting , I know the Vietcong used to eat that stuff but that was out of survival , everything else looks great , some tasty looking food , great video . But for God sakes don't eat those snails , that is probably one of the most disgusting and weirdest dishes in the universe , along with that infamous iguana sushi sushi video on KZfaq , great video , but that snail eating , dude that was weird

@@sinabagherisarvestani8924 I once thought snails were disgusting to eat but after I tried them sauteed in butter and garlic (called escargot) it wasn't all that bad. However, being so rich, I wouldn't eat them too regularly but I wouldn't call another culture's food disgusting because "one person's trash is another one's treasure" so let us demonstrate some respect.

So nice to see two of my favourite KZfaqrs together in my country! I love that Mark eats anything and everything, so he can try dishes that would not be a tourist first choice and enjoy them as they should be. They are all very traditional dishes which are not so well know outside our borders. I loved how Amadeo came and behaved like a grandpa feeding his grandchildren and teaching them about the enjoyable things in life. Adorable. These restaurants are very traditional ones, completely out of the foreign tourists beaten track, but not out of the national tourist one. I am glad that people abroad can get to know this side of Spanish cuisine too. There is a world beyond paella!

There is alway Google Translate I suppose😄 If a tourist want to go into a bar etc with little or no Spanish what do the locals think the best way to approach it is. Wow, I remember Amadeo from Restaurante Casa Amadeo Los Caracoles when my parents took me often in the 1970s. My Dad used to have nice chats with him late into the night. I am so pleased to see he is still having fun at his Restaurante. The snails are amazing, it has been decades since we lived there. I miss the social part of eating Tapas. Spain was very inexpensive back in the day but the food looks just as authentic, simple made great.
