Nice! Looks like I’m gonna cancel Mine since I have the OG. Total bummer I still believe the battle damage torso from the unmasked release has the most accurate blue color. I was hoping for this to be the definitive version.

Yea I too think that half torso version got the best colors for movie 2.

The problem with Robocop 2's pearlescent paint job is that it shifts depending on lighting and angle. Sometimes it has a lot of purple showing thorough. Othertimes almost non at all. And the only way to capture that accurately is to do a pearlescent paint job on the action figures, but im not sure it would even work at this scale? I honestly prefer the more subtle approach of the original release though. Its not as heavy handed with the airbrush.

Yea the purple is just a bit heavy handed. I too would prefer the original but with current mouth pieces

I just finally pulled the trigger on Robocop figures last month with the neca ed209 and ultimate Robocop and imediatly pre ordered this last night as soon as I saw it!

I feel like the Paint job is supposed to be the best of both worlds. I never did understand the hate for The blue in robocop 2 he’s a COP blue is their colour makes more sense than silver.

People hate the blue? I love the robocop 2 suit the most and it's due to the blue lol. But I can see why ppl might prefer silver over blue, but I am fine with either

Ankles are a little better than before. But I can't be 100% sure if that's a fix or whether the fig is just new

I love the purple shading in Robocop 2. It looks extra badass when you put it in the street lights color. It almost had a glowing neon look, particular to the 80’s though it came out in 1990. Not trying to argue or act like a know it all or anything, but it’s supposed to be purple not blue. Great figure.

Yea I am sure at different lights the figure will change a bit, I'll definitely take some pics and see how he looks at different lighting situations

Actually the first movie is mainly silver, with highlights of blue, and very little purple. The second movie is blueish silver, with highlights of purple. The third movie goes back to the original silver but with some blue. Mafex did a decent job but these paintjobs they are trying to mimic is a stylized version, not really movie accurate. I do like the renewal look as a Robocop 2 but the Robocop 1 renewal looks terrible. Purple is never a dominant color on any Robocop suit. It is only a highlight when light bounced off the right way, it is was done with candy paint or thinned metallics, Mafex went heavy handed with it. The artwork, comics and pop culture make him some neo-noir purple pink 80's character but it was more toned down in the movies.
