.....Remaster is meh... it's just the same game with tweaked colors to make it seemingly better and some maybe cut content and a new feature.... Remake is like making a stickman into a fully formed human model... and onto the essence of your comment I agree that "The Godfather" series could use renewal..... remastering/remaking old games is in a way boring since your just playing the same game with better visuals but sometimes it's worth it...

Im excited for all of the remakes lately, since so many older games are better than their newer counterparts. That being said, it's not difficult to make new games that are good. Don't monetize, don't dumb it down, don't make it tedious, don't force multiplayer, etc.

One thing I wish devs did more was thinking about the core gameplay loop, and keeping that fresh, fun and engaging. But not only that, making the game something you want to keep playing after the credits roll. I was so disappointed by Ghost of Tsushima for this reason. It ticked all of the boxes for me, but once I completely pilfered the entire island, there was literally nothing else to do but start a new game from scratch. If any game deserved a NG+ feature, GoT did. Sadly the lack of said feature pulled me out of purchasing the game and just gave it a rental instead.

Nah they botched it already with unnecessary hud, ugly models, weird animation and terrible "modern" additions like cover system and hand-holding. I have no idea how people can have any hype for this after hangar 13's terrible record with mafia 3 and "remaster" of the second game.

I finished Mafia 1 (2002) about 7 times and about 70% of free ride extreme missions.And yesterday i finished DE.The DE version it's easier on medium that the original. Here unlike the original you have stealth and cover mechanics,about 20% of your health gets refilled if it drops below 20%,the reload doesn t wastes your remained bullets from the last clip anymore.

And the way they kind of slapped the whole "Jim Crow" mechanics into stores and with interactions with cops, felt really shoddy and pretty disrespectful to the civil rights movement. Not only that but the protagonist was kind of a sociopath that was super hard to identify with.

Hey dude, I played the original back in 2002. It was kind of like a dream because I have this nostalgia for the 30's and old New York and old Chicago. I'm now 53 years old. The thing about being 53 is that you've kind of done everything, nothing is new. Back in 2002 I was 35 and I had bought my first PC 3 years before in 1999 and this friend of mine kept trying to make me play games like Morrowind and Mafia and Max Payne and I was like "Hey man I'm not a kid I'm 35, I have a young boy, don't have time for kid's games" ... But one day I try it out and I am blown away. I mean games when I was a young teen were Asteroids, Space Invaders, Pac Man in video arcades on huge machines you'd put a quarter into. So about a month ago I buy a gaming PC, a huge monitor and a gaming mouse and keyboard and I buy a bunch of games on Steam but the experience is nowhere the same as it was in 2002, It's not new anymore. Never played the original and just finished this almost finished with the phone booth missions, pretty good game surrounding the lifestyle and the time period it took place in. Although my game crashed and got a corrupted save file after trying to do the waybar bike mission, was able to get my save back, still a solid game. Can’t wait to play the other two

Yeah, my PC barely nudges the minimum specs as well. To upgrade, I first need to wait for: - Cyberpunk 2077 to release - The cyberpunk gamers to realize their PC is not buff enough - Those gamers inflating the prices for PC components by buying it all - The manufacturers making more of said components - The components that are now surplus going on sale - Cyberpunk going on sale. In short, see you in a year or two

I was playing Mafia 1 earlier this year when they announced this remake and immediately paused because these graphics and gameplay looks really great, and figured its worth the wait.

I loved this game when it came out. I tried playing the original a couple of years ago but it really didn't age well. I'm so hyped for this remake even if it's made by Hangar 13. I enjoyed Mafia 3 and even replayed it last year when the 'definitive edition' came out. I trust that they've learned from that game and innovated.

I've never played the mafia series but I've always wanted to play it and it looked really interesting when I first came out period so I'm excited that they came out with this version and I can't wait to play the best version of it

ray h that’s really what it seems like. It looks really pretty and I’m sure I’ll still enjoy it, but Mafia 3s NPC system was beyond terrible with pedestrians jumping in front of your car and then having absolutely no persistence in movement or what they’re doing. It really broke the immersion and I hope Mafia: DE doesn’t suffer from this and that Hangar 13 modified their NPC system somewhat.

Although after replaying 3, I think the traffic system is actually really underrated for the most part. The pedestrians are still god awful though.

I have always loved the race car mission but I absolutely hated the mission where you get attacked in the parking garage. I've never made it past that back then.

I personally, never felt that the racing mission was hard at all, and knowing Mafia, and doing all the preparations for the race I knew that I was going to race. And to me was one of the best experiences in the game

The only Mafia I've been exposed to is the demo for Mafia III and I really liked it but people said that the intro (demo) was the best part of that game. Seeing the praise of the original with the modernization of certain mechanics and visuals, this is really enticing

I'm pretty excited for this game. So much so i've been bingeing mafia/gangster/mob history with documentaries, movies and podcasts. I was just gonna get the remake of 1 but i'm thinking I'll just buy the trilogy. First time playing any in the series cuz i never had any interest before but I'm so ready.

Mafia had that cool combat system that allowed you to see where you shot your enemies vs just bloody clothing.
