Tough but good question! Scientifically I would say neutral over supinated but I think it’s more important as to which you have more of a mind muscle connection with. Keep in mind the supinated you can flip around and do pronated as well.

I’ve been eyeing the mag grips cable attachments and prime fitness cable machine attachments. So conflicted 😐
@DEFYfitness
@DEFYfitness Жыл бұрын
I hear ya. Here’s where my head would be at… if you want maximum versatility with smallest amount of space taken up, I’d go with the Prime RO8 handles and the long bar. The handles are kinda similar to the MAGs with the shape and it will allow you to turn and pivot to the angle you want. You also have versatility with different widths. You can also use the handles for cable presses. The MAGs are really nice but there is less versatility. If you need set handles then go with the MAGs. I’ve also never heard anyone mention the MAGs were uncomfortable or have buyers remorse. I have heard a few people mention regret with the Prime spreader and handles. Mind you, I don’t know the context of why the compliant ie. not what they expected, etc.
@jamestonbellajo
@jamestonbellajo 2 жыл бұрын
Would MAG grips be worth it just for landmine rows and some “cable” pulling work? I don’t actually have a cable tower/machine/lat pulldown but I use my reverse hyper with a triceps rope for exercises like extensions, raises, face pulls and curls so wondering if MAGs would be a major upgrade over the rope and the parallel handle I use for landmine rows.
@DEFYfitness
@DEFYfitness 2 жыл бұрын
I definitely think they would add value to your landmine and cable work. Technically you could hook up the MAG grips to the reverse hyper and find the right angle of your upper body to hit all the areas in your back as if you had a lat pulldown / cable machine. I would also look at the Prime ROT8 handles as well.
@jamestonbellajo
@jamestonbellajo 2 жыл бұрын
@@DEFYfitness thank you and good suggestion! I remember seeing the Prime and thought it looked cool. I find my grip failing for my parallel handle on t-bar rows so though MAG grips could be a nice alternative. Just want to make sure I could get full range of motion. And my triceps rope works fine but it’s really nothing special either. But yeah, I’ll mess with the angles some more and see what other exercises I can do! Like you, I’m addicted to getting accessories so I’m just looking for an excuse at this point, haha. Thanks again!
@DEFYfitness
@DEFYfitness 2 жыл бұрын
@@jamestonbellajo just remember that with the MAGs and Prime handles, you can't use traditional grip straps. I use the Versa Gripps (I think Spud Inc makes ones similar) that you can use to grip assist.

That terrible chemical smell you are talking about, was the same smell I encountered when I bought 6 pairs of Cap dumbells at play it again sports. And they all had this yellow California warning label about cancer. I was almost going to return them ,but here's what I did. I got gallon size zip lock bags and put a couple tablespoonfuls of baking soda in the bags ,shook it up and put as much of the dumbell I could fit then zip close . Leave 3 days. Turn dumbell around and put other end in bag 3 days. Smell was gone......

you could use larger carabiners, but I understand the issue
@DEFYfitness
@DEFYfitness 3 жыл бұрын
Surprisingly, large carabiners were harder to find with the same small diameter. I assume the larger it goes, the diameter goes up for the force it can withstand. I also needed as much height as possible and larger clip would reduce my height for all attachments.

The knockoffs felt slightly better in the hands but I would give the Maggrips the upper hand due to the durability. If budget wasn't an issue, I would go with the Mags as you can choose a more different grips - pronated, supinated, neutral, super wide, wide and narrow.
@tomburton1037
@tomburton1037 2 жыл бұрын
I've used them both and agree about the quality in that MAG is much better. The knockoffs I used were smelly also so I believe it's a feature and not a bug. The big thing with me was the angle of the wrists when using. This is critical as the wrist must stay in partial flexion regardless of which handle you are using. All of the MAG handles keeps my wrist in partial flexion whereas the knockoffs missed it by a mile. With the neutral there is no pressure in my palms so the angle isn't correct which makes the whole concept of the winged handles useless. Buy the MAGs
