In this month's Maggie Moment, parenting author, educator, and host of the ‘Parental As Anything’ and ‘Good Enough Dad’ podcasts, Maggie Dent talks about how parents need to be their children's coach to help them understand the world around them.
How do we help our children understand without overloading them with big explanations? It's important we make short statements of observation at times, rather than always asking them questions, so they learn what to expect in different situations. This slowly builds pathways of predictability in our children's lives as they discover the world around them.
As our children's 'big people', they need to feel that we've got this.
