Would a sling be able to hurl a vial or bottle containing an acid or explosive? That would certainly help them stand out from other range Weaponry.

i think if it were to be a spherical-shaped bottle it'd definitely work

Considering that the Commoner only has 4 Hp, I think d4 makes sense, especially once you add attribute bonus to damage.

Helm of the Gods seems like a great item to tweak for your homebrew campaign. It seems like if your world has a custom pantheon, having a 1st level spell you can associate with each of them would be a good way to introduce each god to your players.

I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I freaking love Greek/Roman mythology and have wanted to run a campaign in this theme for a while.

He talks about slings but nobody ever gives love to the kestros or sling staff.

Really not into MTG and very disappointed that the new stuff coming out for DND is all MTG based. Not gonna buy any of this stuff.

The mechanics of it do seem pretty chill. I'd just apply the rules to a legit Greco-Roman game.

Ravnica has some sweet ideas too. But I'm no MtG player either.

Even if it DID have some MTG related elements, would that be so bad? It's basically just lore, mixed with decent D&D mechanics. You could completely disregard MTG and still have a great time playing Theros or Ravnica. Besides, the previous source book that came out was not MTG, it was Critical Role content and Rick and Morty. If you disregard the R&M source book because it is not that serious, then the Wildemount book can still be a great source of lore and fun ideas.

You do realize that the settings of MtG, like D&D, are just a variety of fantasy settings, right? If they didn’t promote it as being related to MtG, I seriously doubt many of the people complaining about it would even know. It’s just another flavor of fantasy setting....it just happened to be used for MtG first....but so what? It doesn’t change what it could be for play in D&D. Just the same as if a future block of MtG was themed on Greyhawk, or The Forgotten Realms....it wouldn’t really change the gameplay at all...it’s just a different coat of paint.

@@chadcaughmann7898 it means creatives are bound to a MtG framework. Certain campaigns that are too similar to a MtG setting don't receive attention.
