Krystyn Lambert, through her national television work, international performance schedule, and critical acclaim within the community of magicians, has become one of the most recognized females in magic. She became enamored with the art at a young age, and her professional career began at age 12, when she became the youngest member of the junior society at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. She has been a sought-after performer and personality at this illustrious venue ever since.
After starring in the multi-award winning magic documentary, Make Believe, Krystyn has been invited by the United States Department of State to travel to schools across Asia to perform and share experiences from her life in both magic and in the American university system. She serves as a positive role model to youth across the world, possessing a keen sense of how to successfully communicate her perspective to a diverse range of audiences. Krystyn is 21 years old and a third year honors student at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in philosophy.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

To all the people typing words about her, I know I’m in love with her enthusiasm and ambition in explaining how she feels about random events too. To all the people typing words about her, SEARCH UP THE WORD INTERPRETATION and than that’s how you can figure out why you felt the way you did or do about her in thinking she’s insane... JUST SEARCH UP THE WORD INTERPRETATION. That’s how you figure out how a view on people things and the universe works.

Butterflys can be handled gently and still live, it was not being kept from adequate air supply, it fell because it was basically waking up from a sort of micro-hibernation. *she would not have hurt the butterfly for the trick, magicians have ways of seeing to that.*

I think there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication with her presentation for you. It seems she was trying to get across that: the universe has mystery to it, but that it is still something to be explored logically, and not something to just say oh look its cosmos stuff. and be happy with that as an explanation. The magic is to emphasize that the seemingly impossible happens using only means of possibility.

John Lovethatmagic HAHAHAHA dude there are always a million people like you when someone is doing something. They pick at superficial changes that they'd make that would have very little consequence to the final product. So what I always say is- if you want the change then you do it...

Kartman13 Well this is a Tedx not a magic show so it's about ideas more than tricks. If you thought it was about the magic you missed the point being- that which we do not understand should drive us to understand and manipulate the world around us in new ways. And another thing people on Ted aim to be the best not the best in their 'group'. Ie she's a magician not a female magician..
@kartman1392
@kartman1392 9 жыл бұрын
Devin du Plessis I've watched other Tedx videos before and i know it isn't a magic show but more often than not, people show their full potential i.e good at what they are doing (along with sharing their ideas). Tom Thum, Usman Riaz, Jonathan Matte a few examples. I get the point what she was trying to make but she made it in a lackluster way with horrible tricks. Regarding the female magician term, i used it cause there are hardly any "female" magicians. Its the same as you'd refer a female nascar racer n such. If you want to take it as a sexist term, it just reflects your own perception.
@Dev1nci
@Dev1nci 9 жыл бұрын
Yeah I get what you say I just think it's a pretty cool trick I have no idea how you could get that to work so at it's core I think its a pretty brilliant trick- I dno do you know how it works? I'd welcome an explanation. I wasn't calling you sexist I was merely pointing out that the distinction isn't necessary. Danica Patrick is an example of where this would be a point to distinguish because there have been various studies that point to the idea that men are better suited to racing than women, magic tricks though- I see no real reason for a distinction. Same as like first black guy in space isn't really an accomplishment because there isn't an ability difference. I don't mean any aggression just challenging your negative view point.

Devin du Plessis I'm really into magic n that's why i might have been harsh on Krystyn. I know how she did all her tricks but her presentation was weak, that's all i really meant to say in my op. A good magician can astonish you in the simplest of tricks; the way he/she presents it. No offence taken bro, i know you were just voicing out your opinions. That's refreshing for a change; have been dealing with trolls for a while here... PS - Donno if you watch cricket but "du Plessis" is one of my favorite cricketer :-D

No friends needed. The paper trick is trivial without friends. Just have to think of the order in which the sheets are tossed to the ground that is all. The scarf is trickier. Can't see after repeated close scrutiny how and where she's palming that.
