Seeing all of this again just seriously brought a tear to my eye. I wish I could experience Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg as a kid, as they were then. Just one final time.

WOW. Amazing, rare footage. Especially of the Arabian themed dark ride!

I grew up going to Magic World, my mother was a teacher so we would always get in for free, but Magic World wasn't closed for the entire decade of the 1990's, it was opened until 1996. At least we got several more years of enjoyment 🙂

My grandfather is from the area and we would visit the park often when in town. It had all of the best kids rides. Bumper boats were absolutely one of my favorites. The dragon Coaster, the hang glider, model t track. I haven't even started the video yet, but I can't wait to see all of my favorite rides again.

The yeti in the fake mountain is embedded forever in my memory, but I could never find exactly which old park it had been in. Thanks for uploading this!

Thank you for sharing this! I remember going there in the early 90s and this brought back some great memories. My favorite ride was the Magic Carpet but I also thought it was cool that they had ball pits and bumper boats among the other things.

Thanks for posting this. I remember going in the early 90's when i was 10 & 11. My favorite ride was the Spider and I remember getting up the courage to ride that tall Ferris wheel. Though, I remember chickening out from riding through the Haunted Castle ride. lol I'll never know what it was like in person but I had fun while Magic World lasted. It should still be there today! But they might've been losing money, not making enough for it to stay open sadly.

My parents and two older sisters stopped here when I was around four years old. My father said it was too expensive, so we didn't get to go inside . I always remembered the dinosaur in front and the train and waterfall above. I regret that I never got to experience the park, but my alcoholic father didn't like to spend his money doing family things . The only other thing I remember us doing on this trip was driving around looking for bears.

Loved me some Magic World growing up. I remember going there with the school one time about 1991 and one of the guys a year older than me jumped off the wooden bridge at the front near the waterfall onto the fake rocks and fell all the way through it. I remember him climbing out of the hole it left thinking, " How is he not dead"? Damn kids do stupid stuff. Thanks for posting this, it brought back memories.

Probably just a camera cut but wasn’t it kinda eerie how the first clip with the merry-go-round, there was 2 kids at first then seconds later, all of a sudden 4.

My family stopped by Magic World for a few hours back in '78. Interesting (and low budget) park IIRC. The Magic Carpet ride was strongly inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted House was a blatant attempt to copy the Disney Haunted Mansion. I also remember the terrible dinosaur statues, the Earth Auger, and the spaceship, with its classic UFO/flying saucer design. I don't recall seeing the Confederate Country Bear Jamboree wannabe show, but we didn't stay for the whole day.

Oh my lol. I've lived in sevier county all my life and I remember going to this place when I was a kid, awesome to get to see it again. Thanks for the upload, it took me down memory lane. I was born in April 86' , not sure when the park closed, probably mid 90's. I'm sure it don't look fun being from the 80's but I assure you it was a blast. I had a very blessed childhood living so close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with all the attractions like Dollywood. Then you got go-carts , bumper cars, laser tag , arcades , helicopter rides, inter tubing down the rivers, museums , etc. This city made my love of classic cars a part of who I am. I go to pigeon forge at least once a month to go eat at Cracker Barrel. Still my favorite city I've ever been to and I've been to every state and providence in North America, I wish I could see Hawaii to say that I've visited every state but you can't drive there and I don't fly lol My dad used to pile us 2kids up in the motor home every summer the day school let out and we went across country in an rv and it was amazing. I thank God how blessed I was. We owned a used car lot and rebuilt wrecks , still do to this day, and my dad came from a huge family, his dad was a drunk , women beating ,man whore who had 27 kids with 9 different women. My dad grew up in group homes and was headed towards hell in woven basket until he got saved in prison,he got out in82 , started work in heating and air , met my mom in 83 , i was born in86 lol he had his own heat air business by 85 , started driving a race car for a guy who had a car lot then he started our car business from scratch in the late 80s w the help of God Almighty, we aren't rich by any means ,just blessed by our father in heaven. Can you believe I got all of that out of this video lol

I visited Magic World in the 70's and from this video it appears that the park had changed significantly from that time. The owners seem to have geared it to young children, whereas the early Magic World was a kind of crude prehistoric park with a few rides like the Dragon Train, Earth Auger and UFO. I remember later they added a Disney knock off Haunted Castle and an Arabian themed flying carpet ride with animatronic characters (which I see they still had here).

First and foremost, let me tell you a Big thank you for posting this . I went there when I was little 80's & it was so Magical. It was such an escape from the home life I lived in... Thank you beyond words to bring back good memories of my childhood. I really had a abusive and neglected one, and my mother took me to places like this. Hoping I would 4get or just keep quiet. This video is a reminder that you can always escape what's bad, one way or another.
