So basically, he got a muscle up world record. Almost a 1-finger-deadlift world record, and did all this after a rigorous training session, while being relatively untrained in the events. I mean. That's Magnus for you.

there is a guy that can do 32.5kg one arm pullup. So i'm sure he could smash the muscleup record. Matthew Zlat or something
@juanjose_vk
@juanjose_vk 3 жыл бұрын
The current muscle up Word record is 60 kg (it is on rings) and on the bar there are some athletes (i think 5 or 6) that can muscle up with 50 kg of extra weight

Now let's be honest: A lot of world records are a joke and are only there to finance GWR. For sure there are many insane records, but the "pay us 5.000$ so we come to your house for 10 minutes to verify something stupid nobody has ever done"-records are definitely on the rise. What I'm trying to say is that GWR are losing their credibility on a daily basis and in the eyes of plenty (professional) communities, GWR has become a pathetic joke. So, just because something is a Guinness World Record doesn't meant shit. There are a lot of people that could easily beat (stupids) records, they just don't want to pay 5.000$ to get verified.

5:15 There is a phenomenon called "bilateral deficit" which basically means the sum of force you can do with each of your arms/legs on their own, is bigger than what you can create if you move them together. Which is exactly why Magnus is able to do a lot of one armed pull ups, but not a pull up with 2 times his body weight.
@maxmustermann1533
@maxmustermann1533 2 жыл бұрын
Well if you only use one arm at a time it makes sense.. if you change a bech press to a dumbbell bench press the weight actually lowers cause you cant stabilize aa well. If you were to somehow dumbbell press with only one arm i could imagine it being a lot hogher

For the weighted muscle-up, if you have heavy enough kettle bells on-site, they may be easier to use than the big weighted plates. The weight will be closer to your core and won't make you swing as much; and you won't have to be mindful of not crushing your toes under the plates when you get down. Loving the content!

This uncomfortably reminds me of the time when I had to move a 220 pound electric engine by hooking my fingertips beneath a tiny metal collar, deadlifting the thing and waddling a few meters away. I could use six fingers and it still hurt like hell. I'm in awe of how much pain these guys can tolerate in their hands (and probably also feet).
