Absolutely mate. I find, if they feel pretty good with first impressions then you’re going to get on with them pretty well. Sometimes things can come up but in general they’re pretty consistent.

Hey again, I just got mine in the mail today! On your first video you mentioned snugness across the top of the foot, I noticed that immediately when I put them on too. Would you say you don't notice that anymore, has it softened up or stretched a bit? I'm hoping it won't be a problem going forward. Thanks!

Hey dude! I’ll be honest I do still notice it but they have softened up. It hasn’t gone completely but I think I just notice it less. I’ve worn them for very long days and done a lot of walking though and it’s never been an issue. Your experience may differ but I kept mine so hopefully it won’t be too much of a concern for you. 👌🏻

Thanks 😊 they are made with waterproof and water resistant materials and I have got them wet and they were fine. BUT they haven’t been soaked for extended periods in slush or anything like that so can’t say for sure. The wool ankles will likely get soaked. If you want a more ‘hardcore’ and waterproof boot I’d recommend the Tracker boots. More of a hiking style boot but I have them and they survived extreme cold, wet, dirt etc. you name it they handled it. But they are a slightly heavier duty boot though so I’d understand if you’re looking for an alternative. Remember you can always buy them, try for 100 days and return if you’re not happy.

Nice! Yeah the Tracker is a great all rounder in my opinion. They do usually come out with another winter / extreme weather style boot but they can be a bit too specific of a use case. The tracker is a perfect hybrid 👌🏻

Good question. I’ve actually not got it soaked before. When I’ve worn them I usually have jeans that go over the top so they’re never directly affected by the water. I’ve literally just tested them though as never thought about it so I just ran the knit bit under a tap. The do absorb the water but nowhere near as quick as you’d expect. Directly under the tap, water pouring on to it for a few seconds and I don’t believe it’s treated out the box but it does seem you have some sort of resistance to the water and definitely does not soak straight through. So I’d say, so long as you’re not exposed to heavy rain for extended periods of time then they’ll be fine. It’s definitely not like a wool jumper that’s for sure!

One thing that’s a bit of a challenge in general is that since going all barefoot in my shoes my feet have naturally gotten slightly bigger in both directions. With the magna specifically it means these, after a long day of wearing when my feet get hot and swell slightly, start to feel a bit tighter. So if you do have really wide feet they can get snug after a long day of wearing

Great question. I actually haven't been using anything at all until recently! Recently bought a set of the Liquiproof Labs stuff to try out. Natural ingredients etc so currently seeing how that goes on a pair of Honey Suede RA III and some Primus Lite Knit. I've also been recommended some other stuff for my Tracker boots, so waiting for that to arrive and test out next.

Good question. I can’t say ive properly tested to see its water resistance but assuming you don’t have shorts on it shouldn’t be an issue. However if they’re exposed to a lot of water for a long time they could get a bit soaked after a while

I have been using them in Norway for the last year all year round. In winter I just put wool socks and thermal insole. Otherwise they have been through swampy areas, riverbed travels, gravel roads, fishing trips, rocky terrains, tree climbing, in the deep snow, etc. The leather part keeps water at bay nicely for a long time. If you have trousers with long sleeves, the rain is not the issue.

I think something like this would be ideal. The slightly thicker sole paired with the insole will make the transition easier for sure. And they’re going to be suitable for both terrains. My first pair of Vivo were the Primus lite with no insoles. Did 3 weeks in Japan with them and while I did manage, they were brutal on my feet. Not because they were uncomfortable but because they really made your feet work and the muscles in my feet were having to work for the first time! Having insoles and this slightly thicker sole should help the transition and save you from some extreme muscle soreness 😅 👌🏻👌🏻

Hey mate, yes. I’m a size UK 14 which is the biggest size they sell (some of their range doesn’t go past a UK 12!) but their sizes are definitely more consistent now so I don’t have any issues with the length. Some can feel slightly wider or narrower than others but the length is usually spot on 👍🏻

Hey mate, I didn’t have that issue although they did initially feel a bit snug/ tight in the area you mentioned. It hasn’t caused me any issues though. Regarding the seam you’re feeling, that sounds like it could be a bit of a manufacturing ’defect’ if it’s causing pain? If you feel it through socks I’d say there’s not much you can do other than return them. Maybe try getting a replacement if possible. Their customer support is great so if you get in touch with them, explain that you think it’s something to do with the quality of the shoe that’s causing an issue they may offer a replacement rather than having to do a return, wait for a refund then re buy them. @@harrisonmudge Hey thanks for your reply. Maybe because this is a new model (color acorn) they made some adjustments (like the laces) and there is something changed in the manufactering proces? The hurt is on the middle of my instep. I can feel it at the inside of the shoe there is a ridge. Can you try for me of this is also in your model? I bought the shoes in a barefoot shop (Netherlands) so I must go there for my complaint.

Hey mate. Double checked mine and unless they’ve drastically changed how they’re made it sounds like it could be a defect. Mine are super smooth across all the internal seams etc. Nothing that would cause any abrasive feelings on my feet. I can wear them without socks and they’re still good. I saw someone else get the acorn colour and their pair had very poor finish. Excessive glue and all sorts so I think it could be the run of that new colour that’s had issues

@@harrisonmudge I think this is it: When I bend the shoe when walking the new unbendy leather creates a sturdy ridge pointing downwards on my feet. I can feel it with my hand if i simulate the bending. I think it is the new sturdy leather. I walk every day and yesterday I sensed that only the right Manga was still a little hurtful. So I continue walking and I think / hope it is a case of smoothing the leather by wearing. But it was a little too painful the first days.

Yeah you definitely can. Personally I’d take the thermal insole out in warmer weather but in or out it’s still fine. 👌🏻

Great question Daniel. So for me I wear these as a daily shoe. They’re ideal for walking though towns and cities in the winter, OR if you’re going walking / hiking I’d use these for dry weather and terrain. For me personally though my Trackers are my go to if I ever go for any type of off road walks wet or dry. Trackers have the ankle padding and are basically waterproof so they’re the better all rounder. I wouldn’t wear my Trackers as a daily wear round town for example. Hope that helps mate

@@harrisonmudge thanks really helpful. Based on that I think I’ll go for a pair of their trainers. I do want a daily/town pair but see myself more likely wearing trainers for that. Keep my trackers for all my walking activities. I live in North Yorkshire so waking conditions tend be boots or trainers and not much in between.

I think they would be, yes. Taking the thermal insole out will help keep them cooler and yes it gives a little more space in them too 👍🏻 They will still be a warm pair of shoes but, personally, I find sometimes wearing ‘more’ shoe can help as they wick / soak the sweat away. 👍🏻

1 more question which from the 3 , magna forest esc, magna trail fg,magna fg is the most comfortable?

I’ve only got the Magna FG’s but my assumption is they’d feel pretty similar. I can say for certain though, but that’s what I’d assume. I know the escape is your usual leather rather than suede though which could mean they feel a bit stiffer initially. That’s just a guess though.

Pricing is very subjective in my opinion. It changes form person to person and even product to product from the same person! I agree their shoes do get eye wateringly expensive. But my experience is they seem to last a long time. I do have different shoes for different occasions though so it sounds like I rotate through my shoes more than you. I did have to re sole my RA II though but only after a year or two (i did a video that gives the right length of time!) I do agree though that there's sometimes quality issues that seem to slip through QA. I do expect better than that lack of consistency at their £100+ prices. Their returns and service overall is great though, agree there. And yes, there's no longer the 'good' feeling of taking shoes off, you're already getting that when you put Vivo's on! 👌🏻

I’d probably say no. I mean you could if you really wanted to but I’d say something like the Primus Lite or the Geo Racer would be much better. They’re gonna be lighter on your feet and a bit better suited to gym based activities
