I swap out my Magnaflow Mufflers for Flowmasters on my Ranger and see if I like it better.

The flow fx is literally a glass pack muffler.

Really not a difference but if you happy that’s all that matters. Just took off my flow master 44 for a magnaflow go check it out.

External noise was slightly muffled, probably hard to tell on the video though. Biggest change for me was less drone in the interior of the cab.

I have a 86 ranger with a 302 as well,what did you use for headers??

I had the Advance Adapter Headers on it. Pretty sure they don't make them any more. Can't find them on their site anywhere.

I would think from the size of the magnaflows (and that they were turbo mufflers) they would be much quieter but in the video they seem about the same with the flowfx being a little bit deeper. Also I would have expected that the flowfx would create more drone. Just because of size regardless of your setup. I was actually getting ready to replace my straight through absorbtion mufflers for the magnaflow xl turbos but now i'm not sure lol.

Yes, they were pretty similar in sound. I wish I would have put the mic closer to the truck so you could hear it easier. The Flowfx were quieter and with less drone. The drone difference was more noticeable than the sound difference.

@@Dnasty1 Yes, I believe I gave the part number in the video for the Magnaflow's I took off if you want to see the exact ones.

@@scmotorsports yea I typed that in I just wanted to make sure. It’s so strange to me that the small circular straight through flowmaster fx gave similar sound volume let alone less than an oval body turbo muffler. I always thought turbo mufflers were about the quietest muffler you could buy since they use a very oem design. Could there have been an issue with the muffler itself?

@@Dnasty1 That's why I bought them to begin with, thinking they would be quieter. I don't think they were defective though.
