I'm so glad the mayor thanked and complimented you. I honestly think you should get some kind of commendation from the Queen herself. Magnet fishing is a wonderful hobby and I wish I could do it myself, but it's still very hard, smelly, dirty work and none of you magnet fishermen get any pay of any kind for doing it. You're doing it because you want to and you're good enough to, and it saves the government (the Queen ultimately, I think) millions of dollars in dredging. You're making it safer for the fish and other wildlife and you're saving human lives, too, because if a person falls or jumps into the canals with so much debris, their clothing could get caught on something and they might not be able to surface. I hope you're appreciated by the Royals and I'm glad the mayor you spoke with recognizes the service you provide and thanked you.

Metal clips are for holding the end of a gauze bandage or cloth bandage in place by clipping on to the wrapped bandage.

The box contained medical bandaging. The small silver clips hold the bandage on. It very old school.

The little butterfly shaped pieces of metal were ace bandage clips to hold it

Those little metal things are made of aluminium, and are used to hold the bandage closed after wrapping a wound up in the gauze or "ace " bandage. It would be easier to use the metalclips/ fastener than to use bandage with tape some times you need a little pressure to close up a wound or swelling.

My mom was a registered nurse.(RN) for over 50 years. She taught me a thing or two about first aid.
