Al- Beruni was Mahmud of Ghazni's court writer. He wrote the book Kitab- ul - hind. This book tells various aspects of Indian life. Qutbuddin Aibak, one of Muhammad's slaves and generals, and Bakhtiyar Khalji were made in charge of the conquered territories after the second battle of Tarain. Muhammad Ghori is known as the founder of Turkish rule in India. But, his long absence from India resulted in disorder in his Indian territories. Muhammad Ghori was killed when he was crushing these revolts.
