Love the belt sander. If the tool works to achieve the desired result use it.Most people are jealous, they would sand a hole in the board if they tried.

You’re right. Most people don’t realize how versatile a belt sander is and the fine, finesse work that can be achieved with one. Thanks for watching

Well over-complicated maybe, but it's really nice. And if we don't have fun along the way, what's the point ha ? Thanks a ton for sharing :)

Yeah…I can over complicate things at times! 😆 But you’re right…as long as I’m in the shop and having fun…that’s a great day! Thank you for watching!

First, I want to offer my thanks for consistently delivering such high quality videos. We each have our own way of working but I’ve always liked taking a box of chisels from the rack to the bench (rather than taking them one by one). So, I’ve used these type of boxes for a long time. Neat storage is a real thing for me. So, when I moved into my new shop, I bought a lot of used office storage units from a form going under. With a tall tambour cupboards, I fitted vertical slide out boards (20mm ply) using drawer slides top and bottom. I fitted French cleats to the slide outs and now have most of my smaller tools hung up on those. At the end of the day, I just close the tambour doors. On another unit, I fitted drawers in which i have my planes, boxes etc. Can I add that the secret, if there is one, to getting those joints absolutely right using the table saw is having a super sharp blade. I think that everyone who I know is guilty of not changing their blade often enough. If asked when I should change my blade, my answer is about a fortnight before you do….

That’s cool…sounds efficient and great upcycle! And I agree. I have about forty saw blades so finding a sharp one is never an issue. Not a secret 😆

Another excellent project and video, Ramon. I love how you deal with mis-takes since no matter how hard we try, they do happen now and then. I may need to clear some wall space to do something like this for my chisels. Thanks for the Fritz and Franz mention as well bud.

Really nice way to store them. I have all my chisels on magnetic bars now, but see making these in the near future. I use the french cleat system, so the ability to pull the whole box down and take it with me would be an added bonus. Thanks for all of the good ideas. - Chris

I was going to router out a piece of curly maple for a knife rack using a bunch of 2 inch rectangular magnets like your jumbo ones. I'm pretty sure a backer plate of thin steel epoxied to the backside will improve the strength for the chisels. Magnets are like magic in designing stuff. First view and had to sub up. Got recommend by some guy who sands brads out of fan shaped knife blocks. 👍 😃

Great and simple ideas. Love watching your channel. My 5mm bit is frozen tight in the Festool DF500. I am afraid too much force might break my machine. Wish you have a suggestion.

Good to hear! I’d try spraying the shaft area with something like Kroil. (Stuff is amazing! ) Let it set overnight or even do a few times. Make sure the lock is fully engaged…it has to come loose. You may know all of this already. Good luck!

Nice Ramon! I'm like you--a set of marples and a set of Japanese chisels for finer work. Who's the maker of the Japanese chisels?

Yes, exactly! I have that paperwork somewhere but couldn’t find it. I use to know the maker
