Nice work! What stands are you using for your speed lights and are you using a head with them to allow the light to be tilted down? What model speed light do you prefer?

Trevor, when you use magapheres camera right and left, do you point the spheres straight up or down toward the couple? Second, do you use ttl on your lights?

Can't work out how you meter, though. Setup cross lighting and it doesn't matter where the couple move on the dance floor. So, there must be some post done here because as already mentioned, the inverse square law says you are going to loose power. How are you metering?

We recommend one Basic Kit per flash at the very minimum. The Wedding Starter Kit is a great way to get the ball rolling. magnetmod.com/shop/wedding-starter-kit/

I really like these teaching videos BUT .......now that I ordered the magmod system....you don't say camera settings or more importantly .....how much power do you usually set your flash at ???? you sold me the system...now maybe more on the flashes...how far away ? how much power ? camera settings ?

Hi A Marsh that's a tough question to answer because your camera settings and flash power is going to vary wildly depending on the situation. There isn't one camera setting or flash power that works for every situation. It's all about learning the exposure triangle, how Aperture, ISO, and Shutter Speed work together to create the perfect exposure and then how ISO and Aperture can affect the flash power. One great tool for learning this is SLR Lounge Videos. Usually when it's dark outside my flashes are 8-12 feet away and are firing at 1/32nd to 1/64th power. When it's before sunset I will be firing at 1/1 to 1/4 power with the flashes closer. It also depends on the modifiers I am using. For example if I put a MagGrid on my flash then I will need to boost the power some more. Hope that helps a little.

Yeah I agree talk a bit fast. I get extra excited when on stage and doing what I love: sharing tips and ideas with photographers. I do need to remind myself to slow down though.
