When I was a small kid, I remember my mom dancing and singing to Ole Merle. Well the greatest woman, I will ever know is gone and the the greatest country music singer, I will ever hear is gone. May they both R.I.P.

How can you pick a favorite Merle Haggard song. There are so many great songs he wrote and sang. One that I keep going back to is mama's hungry eyes. Such a sad and beautiful song. Thank you Merle for so many amazing songs.

Mr Haggard, sir, I have always wanted to meet you. You are what makes country music 'country'. I have been listening to you since I was little. Some of your songs I first listened to were working man blues, blue yodel, silver wings, the farmer's daughter, lonesome fugitive etc etc. It is sad that George Jones is gone now. Please, don't be in a hurry to leave us. Oh, how I wish I could meet you, and talk to you :-)

Him and Willie...BOB WILLS from Kosse Texas was hero & mentor to BOTH of these musicians! Just ask either of them! Both of them remember him everytime they step on that "bandstand"! They both know: "Bob Wills Is Still The King"!
