I worked at Cedar Point the year they opened Magnum. They would occasionally open a ride or a part of the park after hours for employee events. As a result, I ended up riding Magnum about 50 times that summer. It was a fun time. Regarding the bugs. I believe they were Muffleheads. I worked in games near the front of the park. For the few weeks the bugs were heavy, we had to spend a fair amount of time picking the bugs out of the stuffed animals. Not the most pleasant way to spend your time but it was a job. :)

I was literally next in line for Valravn when it got stopped for the prosthetic leg! Makes sense why they can't ride with it on, but the whole station was in shock. I also thought it was a cell phone at first! Took about 20 minutes to reset everything/cycle trains and then we were on.

I was there the day before you came. My first time back since riding my first coaster at age 12, so basically all major credits were new for me. SteVe and Maverick blew me away, Millennium Force was a great candidate for my 75th credit even though their ops were absolutely trash all day. In the closing hour of the park, their dispatches were like 5 minutes. As for Magnum, I loved it. It's rough but I didn't mind it, and the ejector on the return section was as amazing as everyone says in the Magic Seat. Also I don't get the hate on Valravn. Rode in the front on the end and it was so much fun.

Just went to Cedar point a couple weeks ago for the first time. Steel vengeance was amazing as predicted so was Maverick. As for Magnum, I had an awful experience. I rode in the back row and I’m over 5 foot nine so I was not having a good time. It didn’t start out too bad, but on the air time hills at the end, the air time was incredible, but I dreaded it because every single time I would get slammed up and down and it felt like we were hitting potholes after pothole. Will not be riding again. However, I want to come back to this park ASAP.

I just went in May for my senior trip and here’s my ranking!(sadly I didn’t get to do the wild mouse) 1: Steel Vengeance-just solid, the part where you go inside the structure was absolutely insane!!! 2: Maverick-could easily be swapped with vengeance as number one, my dad and I rode it, not knowing anything about it, so we were definitely shocked about the launch😂 3: Millennium Force- Such a fun ride, overhated imo, that music in the station tho>>> 4: Magnum-I was on the row 4, everyone in my party except me hated it but I loved it!! Those hills were super intense!!! 5: Raptor- My first ever invert, I didn’t expect it to be intense, but that helix at the end proved me wrong💀 6: Gemini- I love dueling rides and this one surprised me, super fun, the station was cool too! 7: Gatekeeper- idk I love wing coasters, it’s tied atm with Wild Eagle but that might change when I go back to Dollywood! 8: Rougarou- If it wasn’t for my head turning into a pinball, this would be higher, still fun tho. 9: Valravn- My first time on a dive coaster, I have a funny story out of it, the first drop scared the life out of me😅 10: Blue Streak- We got put in the back row so it was a little painful but it was still really fun for its age! 11: Iron Dragon- nothing special, but it was still fun, never been on one like that before! 12: Corkscrew- got stuck in the back row, the restraints crushed my thighs, my head was whacked around, the only way to enjoy this ride is to watch it from the sidewalk. 13: Cedar Creek Mine Ride- “ow, ow, OW, OW, OH MY GOSH OW, OW, THIS CRAP HURTS.” -Me and my friend 2023

I’ll always love Magnum and here’s why. It’s the summer of 1994. I’m 20 years old and on leave from the navy. My sister and her friends are going to CP to celebrate their high school graduation and she invited me to come along. I end up riding the Magnum XL 200 with her friend who I always though was the most adorable girl I’d ever seen. No one else wanted to wait in the 2.5 hour line so we ended up getting separated from everyone else and spent most of the day alone just the two of us. And at the end of the day I told her when I came home from the navy if she was still single I was going to date her. And we started dating in 1997 and have been together ever since. Married since 2000 and still go to CP every year and ride the Magnum together.

Magnum reminded me a lot of The Beast. Both are massive, record breaking coasters built ahead of their time. And because of that they have a unique janky-ness not found in future coasters that learned from them. They are very one of a kind because of it.

My wife and I went to Cedar Point for the first time last week. We rode all the big coasters and Magnum unfortunately was our least favorite. The lap bar annihilated my quads, and the roughness through the turns and the hills made my wife nauseated. It’s a bummer because we try and look for all the good when we’re riding coasters. We’re headed to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City next weekend, which is home to Mamba, a ride similar to Magnum XL 200. Hopefully that one is smoother!

Magnum is severely underrated because it never has more than a 15-20 minute wait. The first half of the ride is nothing to special except for the hill into the helix which is surprisingly fun. The helix is the roughest part of the ride but it also seems to gain speed out of the helix. The sudden tunnel drops are something else, they come out of nowhere. The hills at the end are insanely strong sending you a foot out of your seat. I also like how the trains feel kind of open similar to Millennium Force. But it was not as if I really liked it at first. It took me until my 5th ride until I found it a top 5 rollercoaster at Cedar Point.

@@coastaku1954 I meant no offense. I just honestly love all coasters. I hate seeing classics get trashed in the comment section because they don't have all the modern conveniences of today's coasters. I mean, classic cars don't get trashed because they ride rougher. lack heated seats, built in wifi, power windows, etc etc. As I said, I think it's mostly the age gap. To me, Magnum isn't that rough. I grew up riding MUCH rougher ones. I can see how it'd feel rough to a generation expecting smooth every time they board. As I said, just my opinion.

I went to Busch Gardens Tampa and Sea World orlando the year the both Ice breaker and Gwazi were being built so I never got to experience. This trip will make up for it cause I’ve been to hershey before but was too scared to ride anything bigger than super dooper looper. Wild Mouse is a perfect easterly complement to Blue Streak. Both are "starter" coasters great for smaller kids and the GP. IF Blue Streak is intended to be around long term in the southwest corner of the park, then Wild Mouse on the southeast corner makes sense. The kids should probably stay out of Frontiertown though.

I rode Mantis as a stand-up once. It was... not fun. The restraints had a ratchet to them, so it was really common to bottom out on a dip, have the restraints ratchet down a tick, then spent the rest of the ride at a partial squat. The bicycle seat was just pain, you felt way too much weight on your ankles, and the headbanging was absolutely real. I miss a few changes that CP did, but ditching the Mantis stand-up was not one of them.

@parkpros is right on. I really like Magnum and don't mind the restraints, but the third row is way too small if you are at all tall. You just repeatedly smash your knees the entire return trip.

When I went opening day I thought magnum had the best crew vibe there, Also I think the jankyness adds to the ride for me 🤣

13:23 JERRY BEADS!! I’m waiting until 2024 for obvious reasons. My last visit was the week before dragster suddenly closed.

I absolutely love magnum. One of my favorite rides there Edit: I went two weeks later and it is now the second roughest coaster I’ve ridden. I don’t know what happened in between last year and this year, but it has gotten terrible. Shook so much and was super painful

I have a gold pass since I live so close and you are lucky to not have a packed wait. I went Sunday before Memorial Day and a lot of things were closed or had really long lines

I’m still trying to think about without dragster, what rides would be above millennium force with besides steel vengeance and maverick

My son and I took his girlfriend last Friday who had never been to cedar point. We got fast lane plus so she could get the full experience and now she wants a platinum too. I’m 46 so I waited until the park was closing to ride Raptor because it pummels me and I think I swallowed around 20 bugs or so. It was awful 😬

I was at CP on Memorial weekend and early in the days the lines were long but after 5pm they would die down. I HATED Magnum. very rough and I am on the bigger side so I wouldnt fit well on the chair so I ended up with a hurt lower back.

What was the exact day you were there? If you were there on Tuesday the 6th we would have been at the park at the same time
