@@Ravi-yb7mn Not really. it's just common sense. but I know you guys don't know what that is. Look the accuracy Fischer used to play with in the pre-engine era, and then Kasparov also, even though Kasparov also took advantage of the improvement of chess engines at some point, he was already a few years from retirement. If you study with engines is more likely to be better nowadays, but the real question is how good he would've been in the Fischer, Kasparov, Capablanca, and Karpov time without engines?

The secret is just Fabi's blunder due to time pressure. First the passing pawn, he forgot about rook takes with check, and then putting the queen in the wrong square. Magnus really just got lucky with this one. But also, maybe Fabi was a bit greedy. He already had the win in his pocket, he just needed to be more patient. I'm still recovering from that one, I almost threw my phone when it happened 😂 Just crazy chess

he gets lucky more often than he statistically should. he's got this ability to just disable emotions at will, which most of his opponents lack, either slightly or severely (like Nepo). that's why they may get winning positions, but they usually still blink first nerves are a big part of the game, especially under short time controls or as Aronian put it: "Magnus' main secret is his composure and the absence of any soul-searching after mistakes during a game." like many super successful people, he's got some psychopathic traits - which i mean in a morally neutral way. (they usually include charm, by the way).

@@hakonberg8003somewhere between "natural" and "media trained" is probably the sweet spot. like Anand (although even Anand would get annoyed in interviews sometimes). Carlsen is known for being an obstructionist by giving curt non-replies to questions, or getting angry (like his outburst against Maurice Ashley or storming out of the press conference after his loss to Karjakin). on the other hand i can understand him sometimes, because he gets interviewed more than any other players and the questions are often stupid, very repetitive etc.

The meat riders have arrived, gary is the real goat, Kasparov won six world championship matches and held the title for 15 years. He remained the world number one for 20 years and won a total of 38 supertournaments, 15 of those tournaments were won consecutively
@jerky34075 ай бұрын
But you have to factor in that the competition now is harder than the competition back then, and this is a straight up fact, because chess will constantly keep on evolving, even if you think Kasparov is the goat, Magnus is the one closest to him, and the difference between Magnus and the next guy, is much more than between Kasparov and Magnus, you must realise that Magnus is set to surpass Kasparov, if he hasn't already done so
