Can I Beat Pokémon Black Using Black's Team from the Pokémon Manga?
Today I challenged myself to beat Pokémon Black in a Hardcore Nuzlocke Challenge. As a kid, the Pokémon Adventures manga was my favorite book to borrow from the library. I decided to challenge myself by completing Pokémon Black using Black's team from her adventures, but in a Hardcore Nuzlocke Challenge.

You can break your own rules you know. There are no nuzlocke police. Also i would find it more thematic to have braviary on your team. Otherwise fun video.

The gamers thought they wiped out all of the Nuzlocke Police. There's still one Nuzlocke Police alive though. 😶 His name is Sasuke Uchiha. He's the Nuzlocke Police Ninja. Don't break the rules or he'll arrest you after he tazes you with lightning and maybe burns you with flames.

Would you ever consider doing a Sinnoh nuzlocke with only Platinum's manga team? It would be interesting to see you pull that off, especially since Platinum has some underwhelming pokemon on her team like Lopunny & Cherrim.

I personally consider the N/Ghetsis gauntlet to have a separate level cap (54) since you can leave the league in between. But your run, your rules.

I think you were good to evolve Brav there, seeing as you're running a mangalocke. Therefore, it makes sense to have your final team match the manga team imo.

Most common theme I’ve seen for nuzlockes that have the rare candies especially now in rom hacks like emerald kaizo is you have to use the rare candy instantly and can surpass level cap with it

ngl i’ve think it would of been better to just start with brav as a braviary and maybe make it to where to didn’t obtain in by like gym 4 or 5? since it’s evolution level is so high it makes no sense to do a manga run with a braviary without actually using one tbh especially when brav was used in the lenora battle lmao

Amazing Manga Nuzlocke as always, this one came really close in that final battle with Ghetsis. If you don’t mind me asking Magnus, was it entirely necessary to evolve Musha so early on? Especially when it was restricted to using just Psybeam due to being a Stone Evolution Pokemon and since the TM’s for both Psychic and Psyshock were unavailable until the postgame. Which makes leveling it up to Level 37 where it learns Psychic naturally almost a necessity.

I was really debating on that, but Munna learns Psychic at lv37 and that's after Gym 6. I figured I'd need the boost in stats for Clay anyway so I just bit the bullet early.

@@magnuspkmn damn, I find myself in a quandary figuring out some sort of counterpoint. It never really occurred to me, but almost all of the good TM’s in BW are locked behind the post game. Literally the only thing I could argue in regards to delaying Musha’s evolution is using Yawn on Elesa’s Pokémon and then blocking any possible pivoting Volt Switches with Protect. You could even employ the same strategy in the match against Clay. But even the TM for Protect is locked until you show Professor Juniper that you’ve seen 60 Pokémon in the Pokédex (which may or may not be possible by the time you reach Nimbasa and/or Driftveil City, I haven’t done the math but it may just barely reach it). I’m actually surprised even Protect is not easily available in BW. So yeah, with the TM situation and lack of more reliable moves, maybe you really didn’t have a choice but to evolve Musha prematurely.

Good one! Shame you couldn't evolve Brav, but another viewer pointed out that you could've edged his exp to juuust before lv51 before starting the E4 fights. Seeing how close he was to 54 right before the end, I think that would've closed the gap

Haha I wish!! I did the colors myself! I found a site that uses AI to give it a rough coloring, which I used for stuff like grass and skies. Then I went in and fixed most of the colors by hand.

It might be a bit cheese, but you might’ve been able to grind some cup on Brav until right before he level ups. That way he’s still at cap but there’s a chance to get the evo. You’d just need to be careful about who you grind and where.

As early as the Kanto arcs of the manga there's some pretty twisted elements. Lives are directly threatened, Pokémon are cut in half. There's even a zombie.

Dude don't worry about the nuzlocke police. They are cringe and nerds. I don't think anybody with a normal functioning brain would have objected to you using that one rare candy to get Braviary. Especially since this isn't a normal nuzlocke, and is a heavily themed run. After all even mr. Nuzlocke himself, Pchal is rare candy pilled. In his own words, grinding is cringe, and rare candies are better for the content. A nuzlocke can have whatever rules you want. It's not like it's a competition.
