Mahidevran Beats Up Hurrem | Magnificent Century "YOU'RE A MURDERER HURREM"

Mahidevran blames Hürrem that she have a miscarriage. The hallways af the harem echoes with shoutings. Gülşah could barely save Hürrem from Mahidevran. Hürrem doesn't look healty at all. Poeple gets Mahidevran away from Hürrem. Sultana finds out what happened between two women in very short time and she ends up in Mahidevran's room. She puts Mahidevran in her place. However, she gets shocked with what Mahidevran says. In the mean time, Hürrem's health gets worse. The kalfas decide to hide what happened to her. Everyone wonders about where Hürrem is. Sultan Süleyman gets very angry that Hungarian King Lajos disrespects him. He sets his route to Belgrade for the campaign. People becomes so happy about the campaign decision. Hürrem gets even worse. Things get complicated when Sultan Süleyman wants to see her.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I rarely comment but I noticed that what Hurrëm would have said about getting rid of everyone and making the palace hers according to Mahidevran is a reflection of what Mahidevran herself wants.

Exactly! And she was the reason for hers and Mustafa's and Ibrahim's downfall! Yes, it played into Hurrem's hands beautifully; she saw the opportunity and she went for it!

Mahidrevan was her own enemy. You're right she led Mustafa to his downfall. But Ibrahim also had himself not only Mahidrevan to blame for his own death because of his own greed, hunger for power and delusion of self importance. All this nobody could blame Hureem. She used it to protect Suleyman and her children, of course herself in the course of it. She's a survivor. 😊

As a woman, I can understand Mahidevran’s frustration and disappointment, but the woman who calls herself Sultana, should never act like that. You can see Suleiman was disgusted with her. Hurrem did everything so much smarter, she was great strategist. She got rid of Firuze, Isabella without public meltdowns, without showing Suleiman her weakness, her tears. The funniest part here is that Suleiman knew how Hurrem killed or punished these women, but he forgave her. In fact he was challenging her because he loved her smart moves. If Hurrem behaved with Firuze or Isabella like Mahidevran here, I am sure she would lose Suleiman.

he knows she has such an intelligent, cunning mind but he also knows that she is not evil like mahidevran. , her jealousy was like entertainment to him, he even gifted jewelry to hurrem after she managed to make him throw out the russian concubines 😆😆😆😆 and hurrem was even the one who told suleyman about where she threw away isabella too😆😆😆 suleyman trusted her so much because he knows that she is only fighting to survive in the harem.

12:04 Mahidervan clearly played a huge role in Hafsa Sultana going against Hurrem even for a brief second you can see the fear in her eyes when Mahidervan tells that she will kick everyone out, Hafsa sultana greatest weakness was her pride

It's always reminded me of how Nurbanu wound up in conflict with Safiye. I think, at least in the show, Hafsa was more used to handling women such as Mahidevran, who were more dependent on her, whereas Hürrem was prepared to challenge her authority (and the traditions of the harem) along with becoming far more influential on the sultan. Like you said, tha tseems to have spooked Hafsa a great deal.

She started everything, she caused everything and she will pay the ultimate price'. That woman is responsible for every misfortune in the dynasty.

She's just delusional of her own importance just because she's the mother of suleyman's eldest son alive. She forgot her station in life - she still only one of the concubines in suleyman's harem ... also still a slave. It would been better if she just concentrate on bring up mustafa and groom him well to be the next sultan instead of trying get rid of Hureem or any other concubines who became close to suleyman.

Hurrem chose ON PURPOSE not to fight Mahidevran, she knew Mahidevran would be forgiven as Shehzade’s mother, whereas concubine wouldn’t. Hurrem again used her brains here, played full victim and won again! ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼

She learned her lessons well from all her enemies and also she read them well. She knew how to turn the table against them and played victim at the right time. That's why she became the legitimate queen of the Ottoman empire and a free woman. And also the big love of suleyman but if course this came with consequences. But she accepted the consequences both good and bad.

Hurrem couldn't fight back even if she wanted to. Mavridevran's rank as Haseki Sultan was above her, Hurrem had no child to compete with Mavridevran's Prince Mustafa, not even a girl princess at this point. But she was smart enough to control her emotions in the heat of the moment and resist the urge to "get even" and fight back. Hurrem acted wisely.

Both in the show and in real life, this was the moment where Suleiman started ignoring Mahidevran more and more. It's her own fault, and these early episodes show that she deserves losing Suleiman (although definitely not losing Mustafa)

We don't know if Mahidevran beat up in real life Hurrem, some historians contest this facts ( like Leslie Pierce if I'm not mistaken). It seems impossible to me that Mahidevran can beat her because of the presence of eunuchs and Kalfa in every corridor to the harem and the fact that she was a clever women for me in real life not like this woman portay in the show( the fact that she help a lot Mustafa to manage his provinces successfully , she had a lot of good spies without have the love of the Sultan...). But I am agree with you in the rest.

You want to compete with me?" as she clawed Roxolana with her nails. Later being summoned, Roxolana sent word to Suleiman that she was not presentable. Baffled, Suleiman demanded to see her. She "related to him what had happened ... showing her face, which still bore the scratches." Mahidevran confessed, adding brassily that "she had done less to [Roxolana] than she deserved." This "inflamed the sultan even more," and "all his love was given to the other"-Roxolana. Soon after, Mahidevran was sent to province with her son, Şehzade Mustafa.”

@@camiyep0lat7585 Hello Camiye Polat. Yes I know this legend even if I didn't remember the name of the envoy. But like I said some historians (including historians supporting Hurrem like Leslie Pierce if I am not wrong ) said that it never happened ( like the legend of cihangir who died of grief after the death of Mustafa even if in reality he was not close to him). The point of my intervention was to explain why it seems unlikely that this event took place in reality. By the way thanks you to remember me the name of the envoy Navagero I always have probleme with remembering names. P.S: Excuse me for my bad english. I don't come from an English-speaking country

It was not Hurrem's fault that Mahidevran lost her baby. I think it was the drink that Valide sultana gave her which induced the miscarriage. It was to punish her for stealing Hurrem's ring.

He didn't know that she had lost the baby. Mahidevran was going to tell him when she saw Hurrem coming out of his chambers and then attacked Hurrem. Keep in mind, she had Hurrem's Emerald ring stolen and they figured out whether happened. The ring was taken back, Mahidevran sae the ring was gone and she got mad again. By the next morning she miscarried. She blamed Hurrem for something she didn't do. She expected to get the ring and assumed it was for her. Suleiman chose who he gavee jewelry to.

Maidevran nigdy nie została ukarana za swoje przewinienia, wszystko uchodziło jej płazem . Była bardzo podła, wyrachowana osobą , o wszystko obwiniała Hurrem ,nawet o swoje własne porażki . Nie dziwię się Hurrem , że broniła się przed tym wężem jak tylko mogła .

I know it seemed like Mahi got away with all the s*** she did but quite frankly the biggest way she was punished and it was the worst punishment she could ever get because Sulaiman never touched her again and that had a greater impact on her than anything anyone else could have done. I still wish more would have happened to her but I think the fact that Suleiman never touched her again did more damage than anything else

When she came to the palace, she wasn't the sultan's favorite anymore except for mustafa being suleyman's son. Hureem was not even in the picture when mahidrevan arrived with mustafa. She lost suleyman's love or never had suleyman's love at all. She should just take care of herself and mustafa and not to worry about suleyman's love life be it Hureem or other concubines who beded suleyman. She just brought this upon herself. No sympathy for her.

The ring Sueliman made for Hurrem...Mahadevrin wanted it, had soneone steal it for her, the beating of Hurrem, then the poison to kill Hurrem and the unborn baby at Sueliman's own table.....he saw the real Mahadevrin for what she was . She should have lost her head many times...being the mother of Mustafha is all that saved her.

This is why I never liked Mahidevran. She always made-up lies and always envied Hurrem where she was innocent and did nothing to her at all. The reason why Hurrem became stone cold and heartless, seeking out revenges because she was tortured in many ways, sufffered for doing nothing and told many cruel things. She wasnt cruel she did right things. She had to survive and fight for the position she was in later.

Mahidevran never deserved such a poor treatment. Very unfortunate of her as well as her son. Both did not get justice for their frequent sufferings. Hurrem on the other hand can't be blamed for playing the villain either since she had lost everything including her loved ones, and was forced into doing all these to survive.

It's not like Hurrem is so smart. The king was in love with Hurrem and he wasn't in love with Mahidevran anymore. Mahidevran beat Hurrem but Hurrem killed a lot of people and Suleyman was aware of all of them, yet he liked that Hurrem was being jealous for him.

@@KingSahi while feasible, I don't think that would be the case. Mustafa seems to adore his dad. And if a reasonable explanation was to be provided (Mahidevran violated the rules and attacked a person without provocation) the matter would close

@@user-ob4sq6fi3s Given that Mustafa would have wound up, under some extent, in the care of Hafsa, who was determined to uphold tradition, it's likely that something like that would have been reiterated to him-your mother was removed for poor behavior, you cannot be the same. The only way a situation like that of Gülbahar would happen would be if, like her, Mahidevran was somehow allowed to keep in contact with Mustafa, which is a big maybe (I can see Hatice being tender hearted enough, but Hafsa might shut it down). Like you said, the circumstances are too different to compare it outright with that of Bayezid in the Kösem series.

Hmm rewatching this makes me realise Hafsa was pretty innoccent compared to series Hurrem, Nurbanu, Safiye and Kosem. She was doing a good job as validem. Hurrem, Nurbanu, Safiye and Kosem were quite outstanding but that isn't all there is, in the series they lost a lot of their innoccence.

I totally agree, I can't help noticing how with The Tudors and Game Of Thrones people actually point out the sexism and misogyny in this time period, but with Magnificent Century everyone is always putting the blame on the women. Suleiman is the one to blame here, it's a very similar cycle to the one you see with Katherine Of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, the man gets tired of the first woman he was with, and goes and finds a new shinier model. And as for why Mahidrevan was nicer to Gulfem maybe it was because Gulfem was able to acknowledge the unfairness of that system, I've seen it in real life to, some people taking advantage of the privileges/resources they have to get ahead unfairly, there's nothing wrong with that per say but one of the consequences is that your probably not going to be very likeable to other people.

What love are you talking about? Mahidevran was Suleiman’s slave and concubine, he never committed to her, he never promised her to be one and only. Besides Mahidevran he had tens other women. Afterwards he met Hurrem, fell in love with her, married her and committed to her by making Hurrem his LEGAL WIFE Haseki Sultan. Since when Suleiman was or should be committed to concubines?
