Depression is a common psychiatric illness and it is twice as prevalent in women as it is in men. It is important to identify depression symptoms in women as early identification of symptoms of depression in women can help in early initiation of treatment. The depression symptoms in women include sadness of mood, negative thoughts and sleep and appetite. abnormalities. Also irritability, bodyache and physical complaints may be more prevalent in females in comparison to males. There may increase in symptoms of depression before menses and these symptoms may gradually improve with the onset of periods.
The treatment of depression in women includes use of antidepressant and psychotherapy primarily in the form of cognitive behavioural therapy.

Depression ki bimari auraton mein kafi commonly payi jaati hai. Depression auraton mein addmiyon ki tulna mein doguna jyada hota hai. Depression ke lakshan ko pehchanana bahut zaroori hai jisse illaj samay pe shuru kiya ja sake . Depression ke lakshan hote hain mann ki udasi, kisi bhi kaam mein mann na lagna, concentration ki kharab aur neend aur bhookh ki kami. Iske alawa mahilaon mein depression ke lakshan chidchidapan aur shareer mein dard ki form mein bhi aa sakte hain. Periods ke time pe depression ke lakshan akasar badh jaate hain aur periods shur hone ke baad kam ho jaate hain. Mahilaon mein depression ka treatment antidepressants ke isteemal aur counselling karke kiya jata hai

Pari Dubey::: You are absolutely right. There are so many expectations from women, and so many restrictions, pressures, especially after marriage, a woman can go in to depression in no time!!! Extended family of aunts, grand aunts, cousins, in laws, everyone is involved in an Indian woman's married life!!! Personal space is something unheard-of!! Initial years of marriage can push a woman to despair.

To live without depression -Don’t get married. Do some job earn money and stay away from family and visit them often. Practice yoga and meditation. Keep yourself busy in things you like drawing, painting, playing with kids.

Wtf thats is an advise from a very depressed unhappy person.. not every fam gathering is like your fam gathering. Thats is the most joyful thing on this earth.. wht does matter more than fam and seeing you fam growing up together. Money? Wow sorry but that is very depressing. Seek help.

I have one suggestion just listen to one song Kishori kuch asa intejam ho jae iske har ek word ko pure focus se suna you will feel relive and one more start excise and do some creative like cooking and art i am sure it will work

No....these are the symptoms of depression. A normal human don't have depression weather it's a male or female. I'm a girl and happy ,well respected and a little spoiled. But I'm enjoying my life so much .

Irritation, you don't feel like doing makeup, no thinking of fashion, not able to cry, you know you are worried about something but what is it?.. suicidal thoughts, not sitting with family, everyone laughing enjoying but you dont feel you are not part of them

Mostly females india m depressed hoti h per y bat use khud b pata nhi chalta h. I mean shadi k pehle to bhi women ki life m kuch na kuch changes ate h jaise school college ghar bf wgra wo apni life thodi achese jiti h. But shadi k bad usk life ka routine bus same hota h 60 sal tak bus wahi ghar ka kam karo baccho ko smbhalo sas sasur ko dekho or itna thakne p b uski icha ho ya na ho rat m bed p husband ko khush karo Mtlb jo ladki pehle daily bahar jati thi frnds se milti thi sb share karti thi wo shadi k bad n hota life ekdm s change ho jati h sari responsibility women p aa jati h use bohot kuch smbhalna hota h naye rishto m manage hona padhta h or ma bap k ghar jane p b do bar use sochna padhta h k sasural wale ky kahneg log ky kahenge wgra mtlb ek beto ko khud k ma bap k ghr jane k liye b itna sochna padhta h mtlb is had tak uski jindagi badal jati h or agar uski family sasural or husband acha ho to achi bat h pr jisk family or husband b uska support na karta ho to wo tut jati h or apne m hi rahti h wo sochti h k bus yahi uski kismt h or use aise hi jina h. Research shows that the hippocampus is smaller in some depressed people. In one fMRI study published in The Journal of Neuroscience, investigators studied 24 women who had a history of depression. On average, the hippocampus was 9% to 13% smaller in depressed women compared with those who were not depressed. Anyway, family support is really important in such extreme cases. Speak out ladies before it's too late! Stay healthy.

To aap log bhi kar sakte hai h meri to itni badi problem thi mera mere BF se breakup hogya tha jise mai apni jaan se jyada chahti thi. He was everything for me. Uske jane ke bad mai itni depressed hogyi thi maine apni jaan bhi leni ki koshish ki. Hath cut karke but wo successful nahi hua or mai bach gayi. Uske bad meri life me mere sath kya ho raha mujhe kisi baat se farq nahi parta tha na hi jeene ki khwahish thi. Mere mom dad ne meri shadi fix kardi nd or mere husband mujhse 8,9 yrs bade h or mujhse kam educated wo out of India rahte h or mai yaha india me mujhe tab in sab kisi baat se farq nhi parta tha koi farq nhi parta tha meri shadi kisse ho rahi h. Mera ye haal tha ki bus ek room me hmesha door lock karke light off krke andhere me padi rahti thi na kisi se milna na baat karna achcha lagta tha bhut irritated feel krti thi bus pura din soyi rahti thi apne husband se mai 7,8 din bat b nahi karti thi shadi ke bad 1 yr me mai sirf 2 bar unka face dekhi thi call pe. Mai apne husband ko pasand nahi karti thi abi b thoda feel hota h ki wo mere dream boy jaise nahi h but he always supported me. or unhoun hi meri help ki recover hone me. Hamesha sone ki wajah se mera weight bhi badh gya tha PCOD hogya tha mujhe. Phir doctor ne weight loss ka suggestion diya to mai gym jane lagi waha or girls se milke mera time pass hone laga wahi se phir meri improvement start hui. Mai phir apna time mehendi dalne me kisi na kisi chiz ke spend karne lagi. Now i am fine.. kaafi mushkil waqt tha guzar gaya i hope ab aisa dobara na ho

Even I suffered, my heart used to beat fast, I couldn't eat, food used to not pass through my food pipe, no mood at all, world seemed to be lifeless, all day thinking, thinking, head pain, constipation issue,suicidal thoughts. It was such a bad days and now I truly managed to come out of that situation. Without doctor and medicine. I used to divert my mind,keep myself busy in wrk, talk with my mom and my best frd, also used to share in n everything with God alone which I couldn't share with anybody during praying, literally used to cry heavily. I'm truly grateful and happy today.

Something like this happened with me last year in November and December.. I use to get angry on every small to big things, I actually fought with almost all my friends. I use to cry without any reasons, negative thinkings, my brain just didn't use to stop thinking even for a minute.. and it was very bad experience like a real bad one because everyone start going away from me and no one actually believed me that there is something bad with my mental health.. and in short it was worst experience of my live :(

Thanks for sharing informative video . I can totally relate to pre menstrual dysphoric disorder.. thankgod there a term for it and I thought i was going crazy .. because this phase can really make one feel depressed esp if you’re staying all by yourself . Just talk to someone you trust and is positive about life .communication can ease out most of the problems most of the time we women can’t understand ourselves and we have our hormones to blame for it we undergo so many changes in life .
