They don't have the ability to produce adequate number of vehicles so they create this fake marketing technique of shortage..there are numerous quality related issues in all their vehicles plus the dealers try to loot the customers by forcing them to buy accessories from them if you have to get the vehicles...

I feel After Jimny launched now Mahindra matching the price. Good to go with Thar because of Diesel engine option but personally I like Jimny it has 5 doors model.

Jimny is way more practical than Thar if you are not a offroader and want to just use the car as a lifestyle vehicle. Retro looks, 5 doors - easy ingress and egress for rear passengers, 1.5L proven & reliable engine with reasonable power and practical mileage, service network and cost, better boot capacity. If Jimny provides atleast 1 automatic variant under 10L, it will spoil the sport for multiple other manufacturers.

Brilliant review as always! :) I would say Mahindra has missed out on an important section, despite setting a strong competition to car like Jimny, and other RWD cars. This being a RWD, can be a great lifestyle vehicle as it can provide better handling and driveability, however this is only a TOY when comparing with 4WD thar in terms of offroad capabilities, covering different terrains and this is really sad for the following reason: Mahindra should have had AWD option with 1.5 Thar - this is a big miss when comparing with Jimny, and cars like Hyryder AWD, Grand Vitara AWD, XUV 700 AWD, Scorpio AWD etc... and this would have served the folks who wants to drive in slighly difficult terrains like snow, slippery roads, and slight offroading as well! Making 1.5 Thar not only inherit the looks but also have the DNA of bigger Thar. :) I don't see this as a varient in Mahindra's website, i hope they will come up in the future :) So for anyone who wants lifestyle + AWD : This is NOT the one, and they have to go for bigger Thar or other cars with AWD option.

As u said we will have a a bit of shake in the old CRDe engine during on and off. That’s the true feeling of a THAR. Anyways I personally like 4x4 Diesel as that gives the real feel of this vehicle. Also your review is really good! Cheers
