Like this is a guy who could stand up to the greatest player of all time and I'm telling you man we were all robbed. To this day I'm still pissed off that I didn't get to watch this man flourish in a nation where you're supposed to be able to flourish . We all know this country is about to fall now. Anyway. This guy was amazing, Awesome shooter, perfect form, and lightning fast. I believe the only reason he didn’t have the career success as Wardell Stephen Curry (other than playing in an era where “big men” dominated the ball, versus today which is more perimeter-oriented) is that it must have been physically difficult for him to shoot the NBA distance 3-pointer. He was only 6’ and 160 lbs. Do you know how hard it is to shoot a 23’9” shot? It’s a hell of a long distance to shoot a basketball, especially at his size. Wardell is 3” taller and 30 lbs heavier, makes a huge difference shooting 3’s. You’ll notice that when the NBA went to a 22’ 3-pointer in 1994, Rauf’s 3-point percentage went up to almost 40%, versus below 35% at the longer distance. But either way, Rauf was a tremendous player in college and still did very well in the NBA

Not punished for converting to Islam or being Muslim. Kareem was Muslim and he wasn't punished. Olajuwon was Muslim and he wasn't punished. What made people have a negative view of Mahmoud Abdul Rauf was his refusal to stand for the American national anthem. Not saying that is right or wrong, but I was at a game where he was sitting down and you could hear people in the stands complaining about it.

@SkammLykelee
@SkammLykelee Жыл бұрын
@@wauliepalnuts6134Abdul-Rauf (Jackson) was persecuted because his beliefs did not align with white Christian-Americans. Olajuwan is a completely different circumstance. He was born a Muslim in an African country, so he doesn't count. Muhammad Ali was famously stripped of his title. When Abdul-Jabbar converted, many white Americans resented it as well, but Ali has already blazed that trail by then. A country that was founded on religious freedom and freedom of expression,exhibited hypocrisy when punishing Abdul-Rauf over the ational Anthem. Just as when they blacklisted Kaepernik years later.
