The one constant with England win, draw or loss is that we play with shackles on, little style, tentative, slow and afraid to take chances. It does not bode well as Southgate is too cautious and blinks in key situations.

Mainoo has to start in the Euros. I'm spanish, and we have a similar case with Cubarsí who has played around 20 games with Barcelona but has been fantastic and is only 17! I think you always have to trust those players because they are your present and most important, they are your future for the next 15 years!!!

Isn’t it obvious after the Brazil game that Trent (in any position) is absolutely vital. How can you argue that we should play our best players and ‘take the handbrake off’ but not start Trent? Be it RB or DM, he HAS to play.

If Southgate peaked at other leagues he'd realize that Fikayo Tomori is one the best centerbacks England can pick. On his scudetto winning season for Milan he was the defender of the Tournement and yet didn't even get the call ups, just because he plays in Italy (a league rather well known for its quality in defense). He's tremendous at backward defending which is what you'll need in an English side that wants to dominate the ball more and play a higher line. Unfortunately, he gets snubbed in favor of players in mediocre Premier league teams... It's is such a shame.

Pickford/ Pope/ Ramsdale Walker/ Trent/ Trippier Stones/ Dunk/ Gomez/ Branthwaite Shaw Mainoo/ Rice/ Jones Bellingham/ Maddison Saka/ Bowen/ Palmer/ Kane/ Watkins/ Gordon/ Foden Maguire not good enough against pace or high line, Shaw if fit is better than Chilwell, Gallagher doesn't fit into this role and Trent starts ahead Jones and Mainoo also better than Gallagher. Rashford depends on how he ends the season.

I think the biggest problem is that international football just doesn't hold the prestige it should. Players are far more focused and committed to their club sides; the fact that Saka and White withdrew says exactly that as they are prioritising their fitness for the upcoming clash against City and for the remainder of title race. I understand it is a friendly, which will obviously skew the players mindset and commitment more than when a tournament comes around, but that should equally be a/ *the* perfect opportunity for this England team to let the shackles go and play with enjoyment and freedom (as Jude exudes perfectly). The sort of mindset we have seen in both friendlies lie with Southgate's approach, which has to be questioned again now.

F*cking hell lads. The EUROs are around the corner and you lot didn't even know who England are facing in the group stage. I may be biased because i'm Slovenian and we don't usually qualify but I was kinda shocked by the lack of interest in that. I think you guys need someone who will tie in a bit of international football knowledge on the pod. The podcast is one of my absolute favourites (the only one I listen to other than Goldbridge saves football) and I love listening to it but I think the knowledge outside of the Premier League and Championship is lacking a bit. I hope I don't sound too harsh but it's called the Football fill-in and I think it could be more inclusive towards leagues and clubs outside the Premier League & Championship.
