Cruiser has been the most underrated divison for couple of years now. Always gives amazing fights, but as some people point out, the lack of US boxers makes it being less covered.

This was a great fight, with absolutely APPALLING commentary. If you just listened to the audio you would think Briedis didn’t have arms.

Highlights of this fight show a pretty bad robbery but if you watch the whole fight (like I did, live even), the right guy clearly won. Briedis did not cope with the southpaw of Jai who did tire in the back half of the fight, Briedis did take over but too little too late. One more round and the fight would have been stopped by the ref or Briedis but that's boxing. Was a great fight though and the highlights do no give it justice. To anyone who thinks this was a robbery, watch the full fight and say that Jai lost.

Looks like Mairis had a hard time getting inside on the southpaw. You can tell Jai’s hero is Usyk. He boxes just like him. Jai just too young and strong for the old veteran.

Only seen these highlights but it looks to me as if operita got the early round points ,some were even almost & then his opponent came home strongly but needed a knock down to catch up.Looked to be a good fight.

Jai could have easily stick and move for the rest of the fight and win easy but he got too comfortable and choose to trade in close quarters and cost him his jaw. Jai will be at the top for a long time.

Briedis finished the stronger. For me he was looking to finish the fight. Jai did well to snatch the early rounds. So it is a win for him via points. But I think Mairis looked better.

you can see every time mairis went on the inside, jai would sort of give up and not punch, until he jumps back... he is taller than mairis, so next time hopefully in rematch, mairis needs to go on inside rather than hopping back for jai's perfect jabs...i dont know how jai won, these highlights semt both sided and jai fell 2/3 times, mairis fell none, just cause jai stayed active during whole fight whilst mairis started to get tired.. doesnt mean anything... mairis had a bloody nose, cause he has a weak nose, it seems like everytime a fighter breaks or busts his nose, that fighter wins even if mairis performed better... like usyk fight, they have to rematch, if anything this was a draw.

The judges' conclusion gave some gifts to the local boxer. In reality, the fight was 50 to 50. And what is important is that in the second part of the fight it was Briedis who began to dominate, being 10 years older than his opponent. A little more, and Briedis would have sent Opetaia to the knockdown. We are waiting for a rematch!

So I don’t see why some people are saying this was dominant for Opetaia, he def landed some good shots and look sharp though, Briedis looked slow, but also looked like he blocked a ton of the shots thrown and landed a bunch of his own sneaky power shots…. Gotta watch the whole thing uncut

l thing in rematch Briedis would win, considering that Briedis was sick with flue during this fight. Even being sick he managed the last 3 rounds to win, he is like getting second breathe. From the highlights definitely looked like home cooking to me. Opetaia had some good early rounds, but Briedis landed the more impactful shots in the second half. Opetaia was lucky the fight was in Australia. Anywhere else Briedis would have gotten the decision.
