@@eldergod4817 For me, it is everything. I have been a fan of Lilly Singh since the age of 8 and Never Have I Ever is one of my favourite shows. Seeing these two Indian women on national American television gives me confidence that I can be anything I want to be despite the colour of my skin. It is wonderful that the Indian community is finally getting representation thanks to the work of these amazing people.

What's striking about watching Maitreyi and to some extent Lilly is how natural and comfortable they seem to be in their skin. The confidence they carry is so amazing to watch. Second gen immigrant kids born in the 90s and 20s came in to a different world. They are more free and less burdened by the stereotypes than a generation born before them. It also looks great on the Canadian way of life. America can do better looking at their neighbors from the North.

I just randomly started watching this Netflix series and from the very first episode I just felt a connection with Devi. Then recently I just got to know that Maitreyi (Devi) is having a Sri Lankan origin. As a Sri Lankan which is unbelievable for me and surprising which cannot be explained in words. In Sri Lanka we have a saying that we all are relatives in our small island nation. I wonder whether that's the reason which I felt Devi is so familiar like someone that I have met somewhere (which is actually not and we are thousands of miles away across the globe ☺️) Wishing you all the best Devi! @olivia for ya ✨ what do you mean by this question? lot of people don’t want to be brown. How many white people or any other race wanting to be brown? Do you know a lot of people wanting to be brown? They may want to get a little tan but not brown. Because of the representation now my kids are starting to love their skin, before they used compare themselves with white kids in school and would get sad that they are not white. Many of south Asians are now giving hope to the young brown woman to love themselves.

god i'm sick of seeing "tamil" and "sinhala🇱🇰" on the same line. i'm tamil and my parents flee their country because of the civil war and because they were oppressed by sinhalas and SL gov . today i'm pretty much happy in france and i' m fighting for randam people to not associate "tamil" with this 🇱🇰🤮 well, இனிய புத்தாண்டு நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள்
