FYI the bolt does have a spring loaded screw to move the cable positions from place to place. You don’t have to unscrew them.

I installed my B52 on 03/10/24 and have to say your tip on using the cable attachments to hold the Pull Up Piece was huge! I think I could have completed the install in half the time it took me had they included voice over on their install video. I had a few spots where I had to take it apart because the manual and video were too small to see. I also realized at the end the two main supporting pieces in the back that you add weight holders too, was backwards to I could not add them and I was not going to take those apart. I honestly had not planned to use those to hold the weights anyway. Thanks for the tips and the video.

What are your thoughts on the dip bars? I believe my head is too close to the pull up handles when I do dips unless I turn around backwards. I don't like bending my knees. I plan on doing a review video in a couple of days!

First, nice usage of "Last Caress". I've got the B-2 out in the garage; from what I can see, it's essentially the same as the B-52 without the strap/band hook-up points, pins instead of slots for the smith, the steel might be an ever so slightly smaller gauge, and the overall cage is a wee bit smaller. I upgraded from a PowerTec Workbench Levergym, and it's been amazing so far.

Glad you like the intro! I know a lot of people got the B-2 awhile back and as interesting as the B-52 is, none of those people seem all that upset and are still pretty happy with their B-2 purchases.

Great review, very real and honest. I have been researching for this type of home gym for a week now and this has landed on top of my list. The one question, or hesitation, I have is the width of the separate pullies. I am 6'3 and am wondering if the cables are far enough away for me to get an effective fly workout in? I am not worried about the smith machine and shoulder press as I would opt to do seated presses or move outside the rig and use a separate barbell to do standing ones. Would I be able to get an effective chest fly workout in, whether I am standing or on the bench as my wingspan is near 75"? Thanks!

Hey, Kevin; thanks for the kind words! Regarding the chest fly question...that's a tough one. On one hand, when you're dealing with any rack that has to accommodate a pulley system AND a place narrow enough to rack a barbell, the pulleys can only be so far apart (otherwise the bar wouldn't fit). In this regard, I don't think the B52 does any worse than other options with similar features. If you're down with moving a bit forward, away from the rack when you perform your flys, you won't be able to go AS wide, but you'll be able to bring the pulleys to full extension. Obviously, coming from above or below is an option as well. Hope that helps and good luck!

Debating between this and the SLM07, is it worth the extra $500?
@GGRTom
@GGRTom 6 ай бұрын
I think it's closer to a $300 difference (for "base" models of both). I'm not as familiar with the SLM07, but it appears as though the major differences are rackable/loadable capacities. B52's is, a little less than, double the SLM07's for the safety bars (800lbs vs. 500) and the B52's Smith bar can loaded up to 1000 lbs (vs. 500). I'm nowhere near strong enough for these differences to matter, but, if you are (good work) then you might want to put out the extra money.

Consider this is a 2x3 structural vs a 2x2. This specification - in addition to steel gauge (which is the same 14AWG across both) - make up the most important physical characteristics of the machine and will impact robustness, sturdiness, weight, and sway during day-to-day exercises. Consider this a step up to ML's "Professional Grade".

@@dcpadula I know some will come out of the woodwork and say stuff like "11-gauge steel or GTFO!" but the 14-gauge of the B52 (also of the F22) holds up/feels solid in a ~400-plus pound rack in a way that it doesn't in a $150, 100-pound 14-gauge rack.

@@TomEskey-xb8vi Considering I'm actually buying this unit later this evening, I appreciate this comment and insight as this very spec (14 vs 11 AWG) is somewhat concerning to me, but not alarming. Happy to hear the opinion of someone with first person experience stating it's not an issue afterall...so thank you!

Agreed. Needs to get himself a local collar-clip mic which bluetooths back to a receiver at the source in lieu of just yelling to a distant microphone in an "echoey" garage
