The Major Operations are Done in the new TCCN Shop! If you would have asked me 2 years ago would I be opening my first shop and starting my own business, I wouldn't have believed it but here we are!
Even though it doesn't look like much have changed but significant progress has been made in the Shop! The plumbing is all in and done, concrete is poured and ready to go!
What is left from construction is some electrical work, Paint and the Epoxy floor then we move in the shop! Grand opening is around first or second week of June! I still can't believe it!
Thank you for all your love and support. Thank you to all my patreons for their support! I started this channel with a mission to help people with information about their Toyota and Lexus through my experience as a Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician, And now I will be able to do so much more to help change the way Automotive Repair is done through this shop!

It may be a good idea to discuss with your attorney the laws of mechanic's liens and to have him or her review your repair agreement between you and your customers. You'll probably never have a customer problem, but it's good to have the knowledge in your back pocket anyway.

Love it all. I'm in Colorado and I'd take a week's vacation just to take my Tacoma to your shop! Fingers are crossed and my excitement is over the moon. I helped my uncle put together his automotive machine shop in NY and it was truly and exciting time for him. He was the jack of all things and my hero. He was so happy to finally walk away from a large dealer type environment. Cheers to you and your wife....cheers to my uncle whom I've asked to keep an eye out for you and your endeavors. 😉

I would seriously consider hiring an acoustics engineer, since you will be filming here, and filming while shop operations are ongoing. So, you will want to design and place acoustic panels, and other sound deadening materials on walls, ceilings, floors etc. So that the noise levels, echos, etc. can be kept to a minimum. This will not only be beneficial while creating content , but you and your workers will enjoy much lower overall decibel sound level while working day to day.

Having built out larger warehouse and shops... consider putting in an entire shop audio system that integrates with a phone system and intercom. That way you can have background music in the shop and the office manager can page yourself and technicians as needed. Also make sure to install a few commercial ethernet wireless access points in the shop so tech's can easily connect to the internet for service data.

The update is awesome!! So glad that you have been making good progress on the new shop. After thinking about it, I thought this idea might be nice so I’ll share some input that I think may work out really well for the office/reception space. It might be a good idea to have 2 computers, one by the reception to show customers anything you might need on the go or print something for a customer, and have a second computer with an office style desk near the back wall where you could still sit down and do any paperwork, and other business related work that you might need to do on the computer. So basically the entry door going from the shop to the office space, would lead you to walk straight to your personal desk and computer, while still having another computer and open reception area like you are planning and showed us in the video. Sorry if this may sound a bit confusing, but I hope it helps you plan out your renovation and layout. Happy building, and I’m excited to see this vision come along, looking forward to visiting and supporting the new shop.

This happened to a new service shop near me. The owner had radiant heating installed in the floor. The heating installers marked the floor for the lift installer to see where he could drill his bolts. Well, the guy who came to put in the lifts decided that he did not want to go where the markings where. To end this story the company who sent the tech to put in the lifts had to pay over $100,000 to replace the floor.

Congrats CCN family! Happy for you and may God bless you and your customers in your new adventure! I couldn’t tell from the video but make sure the mechanical contractor has installed clean outs on the condensate drain lines on each AC unit so if there’s ever a clog you can flush out the lines! Being a shop owner, they will get clogged every few years if not cleaned periodically (shop vac and drain line cleaner works great!). Also, the black elastomeric insulation installed on the refrigerant lines degrades in UV light so request the mechanical contractor to either use an outdoor UV rated paint or metal jacketing to coat the refrigerant line insulation above the roof to the condensing units. Not required for the piping inside the building - only outside. Not sure about Ohio, but in NC where I live, protecting the refrigerant line insulation is code required. One more thing to look out for - be careful with electronics underneath the AC units, if there ever is a drain line clog the water will backup and overflow out of the unit and drip water on whatever is underneath. Just try to not have your lift electronics right underneath the AC units for example. Consider having deflectors over electronics or having the contractor add SAFE-T-Switches to shut off the AC units in the event the drain pans inside the units are backed up and may overflow. May save you $ down the road so just things to be mindful of regarding the AC (I’m a mechanical engineer in NC). It’s a great shop! Looking forward to future success and you continuing to share your expertise with all of us!
@TheCarCareNut
@TheCarCareNut 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You and the HVAC contractor would get along well! He literally had the exact same conversation with me! Clean outs are installed. The outside line is coated and he told me not to put electronics directly underneath the ac unit in case of a water backup.

You need a little office for your mancave. You can't have a shop without a mancave. Just add another room or extend that little space for the receptionist. And make sure you have a secured storage for important document safe keeping from theft and vandalism. And be sure to install security cameras in every corners of the shop. It's a must have for everyone's safety and asset protection. You will encounter shady people with bad intention. And protecting yourself from lawsuit. Aha, the 200 amp limit you have is based on the Building with multiple units, which total 22,000 SF! You will be fine with 42 circuits, that's what is most important and you really won't be working more than a couple of pieces of equipment at a time. The AC's will draw most of the power though! I really liked the carpet squares in the reception area. You could replace them any time they get really dirty! You could save some money there.

I am addicted to your amazing videos & all your expertise with Toyotas -- 3 months waiting for a 2022 XLE Sienna -- none to be had in FL-- dealer got 11 Siennas in March, but not in Blueprint-- hindsight should have settled on a different color, Only 1 came in May-- already reserved-- None so far this month in May😥 If I ever get one, will stop in on my way to my beloved Midwest roots & family-- am really concerned about having a top notch mechanic with Toyota as our family has always had with our Ford vehicles. May God bless you & yours & all your endeavors in life🙂🙏🏼
