Cheyron in the Talon Squad books is awesome, in the first book he basically guards the only extraction point while the rest of the kill team run the mission. He takes out so many genestealers that it completely covers his whole body and the kill team thinks he disappeared until he emerges...

These are great ones. But these are my personal favourite dreadnought moments: From the book "flight of the Eisenstein" during the virus bombing of istvaan 3 a deathguard dreadnought and marine sacrifice themselves to close a bunker to save there comrades. Unknown to the marine, the dreadnought had suffered damage that would allow the virus to enter his coffin, and instead of letting their primarch kill them, the dreadnought fucking nukes himself as a big fuck you to Morty. The other is from "soul hunter" where malcarion the war sage, who was entombed into a dreadnought, fought the same boodangel he put into a dreadnought 10,000 years prior. I'm paraphrasing the quote but he basically says "l already killed you once". Long winded but read the ADB night lords novels for the dreadnought alone he's awesome.

Damn was kinda hoping for chaos dreadnoughts. Like Malcharion the War Sage of the Night Lords. He was a pretty cool and wise dude(for a Night Lord mind you). Did not do much as a dreadnought as he just wanted to fucking die but still, he is one of my favs. However, that is just me being a chaos fanboy. Still a fun vid. You get my like.

Rylanor wasn't sent to Istvaan III with the other loyalist Emperor's Children, he volunteered to take Saul's place in the first was so Saul could remain on the ship. Also Rylanor didn't need to seek shelter to survive the virus bombardment because his Dreadnought sarcophagus was still intact.

Rylanor's story is truly inspiring😀

Back in the day when the first Dawn of War came out one of my friends told me that the most terrifying thing he saw in the game as I played it (he wasn't into 40k before watching me play DoW, so it was all new to him) was the classic line of 'even in death I serve'. IDK about it being as bad as he thought it was at the time, but damn it really is a chilling line when you think about it.

Malcharion from the Nightlords series is easily my favourite dreadnought. Continually refuses to be awakened because he hates the ruinous powers and what the legion has become. Then when he finally does awaken his only moment of happiness comes from beating the shit out of some blood angels and getting to kill their captain Raguel from the siege AGAIN, In an epic dreadnought fight. The ultimate "fuck you little, red, tantrum boys now put me back to sleep"

A poisoned thing, dying before we had ever arrived in that place, a Grave in waiting, a Grave inviting. He was nothing to Fulgrim, less than a child, pulled from his metal body and made naked to us all. The Primarch held him like a babe, so delicately, holding his tenuous ties to life intact, but just so, letting Rylanor languish in sickness, in weakness, letting that proud ancient fall as lowly as possible, in preparation for the ascension he promised. You sing songs of illusions, of things which never happened. You exclude the truth, the depth of his vulnerability, of his crippled, infantile form. You think this is a mercy? That it makes Rylanor proud in death to be depicted as such? To stand proud in the meager ruin you describe? No. You steal from that icon of Purity his true glory, for no better reason than that you FAIL to understand it. The Ancient was an Astartes, he was a God among men, an angel of death! And yet, in that moment, he had been reduced to less than meat, less than form. And not once. Not. Once. Did he feel shame, did his pride, his outrage, his conviction and duty, waver. To know a man, you must know what he has risen above. To understand a man, you must understand his struggle, and his acts within them. To love a man, you must know him, understand him. You will never know Rylanor, never understand his strength, or love his sacrifice. Not like I did, like we did, in that final moment. We all chose to die there, to preserve what we saw, to save it from the spiral. Were we saving Rylanor? Some think so, but if they had been there, if they had understood, they would have seen it. It was what Fulgrim failed to see as he held his son, what he failed to see when he had his brother Mannis brought back to life again and again. Rylanor was not the one in danger. He was at the cusp of great suffering, of horrible change. But he would never have yielded, and every violation would have served as the smiths hammer, forging a weapon which would have slain us all. Our own god understood this. Our own god made sure we would be the ones to find him, to be there, to restrain him in those moments, and then to hear his words and free him. I did not know it then, yet had Rylanor been allowed to rise a second time, either as monster or brother, he would have become the stone which began the avalanche that would bury us all. So we killed ourselves, we wounded the foulest of our Lords, and set that trapped ancient free. But we did not save him, for he was already saved. Something we understood only as death consumed us. Something you might have understood, had your verse been more honest, and less...pretty.

As much as it pains me so say this..... I kind of expected good old Davian Thule to make the cut here.... Damm badass killed a hive lord on his first day, and then helped save an entire sector. He is not Rylanor's level of badass, becouse I can only think of 5 guys who are up there, but Thule is pretty awesome, like Tancred for example.

I was expecting Cassian Vaughn or bray'arth ashmantle to be in this. They are both cooler than the ultramarine one.
