Traitor geneseed is considered to be tainted and heretical by most. However it has actually created some of the most powerful and steadfast loyalist chapters in the entire Imperium

I think the Soul Drinkers were actually either 2ed or 11th legion, since we know that the Fists (along with the Ultramarines) absorbed the remnants of those legions into their own. I had the idea of a chapter that's listed as Ultramarine stock but are hinted at having Angron geneseed. Instead of bloodthirsty world eaters, as children of his true self, theyre accomplished empaths, medics and speakers, adept at rallying troops and inspiring hope, that find battles everyone thinks lost to either turn the tide or get as many civilians out as possible.
@moderndavinci6599
@moderndavinci6599 Жыл бұрын
That's probably how it should be, and I love the idea, but Angron and his World Eaters are synonymous with rampage and carnage so most likely- if any chapter does get revealed to have their gene seed- they are also going to be rampantly bloodthirsty even without the Nails. It's way more well know that "Angron mad and carnage" than "Angron was supposed to be an empathetic healer before the nails."

@@moderndavinci6599 glad you like it. I guess they could go the bloodthirsty route, something like the carcaradons, but I think it would go against the work GW has done to make angron more 3 dimensional. It could even show the futility of being such a chapter in 40k. Never at full strength, always picking fights theres a string chance they cant win, never making smart tactical retreats, and always willing go sacrifice thier own lives for the sake of other imperial forces. Unlike the salamanders they could be dower and monk like, as each one instinctively empathetically takes on the burdens of dark emotions like stress and fear from the people around them when they land of war torn worlds. But constantly fighting for the little guy and hopeful for a better imperium. Be cool to have a show down with the WE too. Imagine Angron and his world eaters surrounding this chapter on a dying world, encircling a beaten and bloody chapter and the loyal PDF they've inspired, who are fighting for time for as many imperial forces can escape off planet as possible. In this moment the hammering of the nails in Angrons head sends clear memories of what was supposed to be his last stand on nuceria through his mind, and it drives him into an even stronger fit of rage.

@@moderndavinci6599 Not necesarily bloodthirsty. Previous to the discovery of Angron the Warhounds, as they were called, were shock troopers who specialized in direct assaults and very fond of melee combat. Their culture was of proud warriors and combat prowess was highly valued, but other than that they were a very disciplined fighting force. It was not about bloodthirsty rampage and unleashed rage, it was about controlled agression and disciplined combat doctrine. A loyalist chapter of the Warhounds that integrated what they were and what Angron was supposed to be would be a mix of the Salamander's empathy and benevolent nature combined with the Black Templar's style of warfare, minus the inclination to crafting and fire of the sons of Vulkan, or the religious fanaticism of the knights of dorn.

There is one more hint that the Silver Skulls are Iron Warriors. There is a story where an inquisitor uncovered some secret about their founding and geneseed, but rather than reveal it (as she determined the chapter was 100% loyal) instead sent this info to their chapter master and their 1st company captain. The two Silver Skulls were greatly disturbed by this information, though stating the information would "both condemn and exonerate" their chapter. Thus it would make sense as the condemn part would be "traitor geneseed", but also would be exonerated because they are basically descended from members of a traitor legion who remained loyal and due to being considered honorary Ultramarines during the heresy, formed their own chapter afterwarss Which checks out with the theory that they have been Iron Warriors the entire time and Guilliman just claimed they were Ultramarines to cover for them., likely making sure future generations of the chapter wouldn't even know the truth to prevent it from getting out.
@DVAcme

The main theory is that the Silver Skulls are what became if the Sons Of Dantioch, that Guilliman adopted them as an Ultramarines successor chapter to save them from being persecuted after the Heresy was done. Maybe they never clean their armor of the filth it accumulates from war, and or they realize that they are fighting identically to their enemy and have to change tactics. And at the end of the book, with the chapter down to nothing more than a couple squads fighting to death and refusing to yield to the Death Guard Chaos Marines, Mortarion himself comes forward and as they fight against the Daemon Primarch they also have to also fight against an almost irresistible urge to kneel to him or to obey the same orders Mortarion gives his chaos marines.

I think the Minotaurs are actually created by world eater geneseed as pre brain-nails world eaters did have a very spartan aesthetic plus they had the most loyal memebrs when the legion went to chaos showing how extreme their loyalty to the Imperium was (as even with brain nails, being censored and their primarch turning most still chose the Imperium). Also I've always thought the Lamentors might be a chimeric geneseed of Blood Angel and Luna Wolf geneseed. So my thought goes the mechanicus tried to "cure" the red thirst by mixing geneseed and chose the Luna Wolves because of the legions closeness before the fall, and their bad luck comes because both the Emperor and the Chaos Gods hate Horus so much that both sides are cursing any with Horus's geneseed to bad luck and shit times.

Majorkill, Please do a video on Ork Life and culture outside battles! I don’t think there is anyone more perfect to cover this than you. Like what is life day to day for an ork on a planet controlled by them? Do they build temporary societies, where do they eat, sleep, and do they just do crazy things like perform Aztec style soccer games where the losers are curb stomped at the end 😂

It would explain why Eliphas called them 'brothers' during DoW 2 chaos rising but their MO of finding knowledge and receiving 'gifts' implies Thousand Sons since they really craved that sort of stuff I think its more accurate to assume the Blood Ravens are a chimera geneline both both to stabilize them and prevent the flesh change

I kinda like theory that Blood Ravens are mix between Thousands Sons and Ultramarines geneseed. As you can always see in their game conflict between mundane humane space marine vs psyker-mage space marine. To be honest that mystery should be left untouched, it is main reason why they are interesting.
@Nirual86
@Nirual86 Жыл бұрын
some mixing could explain things though the Blood Ravens don't strike me as particularly Ultramarine-related. None of that quasi-religious adherence to the Codex Astartes, though we've certainly seen plenty of arguments in their games. If any of the Loyalists are mixed in there, I might actually argue Raven Guard more, given the Blood Ravens preferences for Drop Pods and Scout Marines, as well as selective precision engagements in general since they are so frequently outnumbered massively by their enemies, even by Space Marine standards.
@kennycai8695
@kennycai8695 Жыл бұрын
Another potential chimeric mix for the Blood Ravens is implied to be Lorgar's. While we know Eliphas likes to call Thule "brother" to mock him when they faced each other, maybe Eliphas' taunts were rooted in truth. Like the Ultramarines, the Word Bearers have very little genetic deviation, and were actually one of the larger legions in terms of active personnel. Plus, another tidbit is that Lorgar is also a psyker, given the existence of Lorgar Transfigured on the tabletop. Perhaps the reason why the Blood Ravens are not susceptible to the Flesh Change, like every Thousand Sons marine, is cause they have the stabilizing genome from Lorgar warding off Tzeentch's shenanigans.

A more likely approach to the Blood Ravens Geneseed is to say that they have multiple legions Geneseed, like Imperial Fist and Thousand Sons would explain their lack of mutations and obsession with knowledge. Another theory I have is that they're the sons of the 2/11 Primarch(s). Also when did you get started on Blood Ravens lore? That "Physic Chapter Master" was Azaryia (I don't know how to spell his heretical name) Vidya (Don't know how to spell his last name either). He turned out to be super heretical, killed a lot of people, Exterminatus'ed Typhon Primaris, and became a Daemon Prince. Obviously he was banished, but this time instead of the 1st company captain(Captain Diomedes who was a puppet to the heretical Chief Librarian) taking charge, it was Gabriel Angelos of the Third Company who took command.

About the Sons of Antaeus, they may be Iron Warrior successors as well. Read the following excerpt from Deliverance Lost: ‘Take this one, sample *four,* as an indicator,’ said the genetor majoris. ‘We have managed to identify at least six unique sub-complexes and protein strands geared towards physical durability, above and beyond that found in the others. In the same sample, there is a dearth of certain enhanced genes that, in our estimation, boost the cytoarchetectonic structure responsible for the development of nociceptors and proprioceptory function.'

Another great video mate. I have heard the rumors of Tiberios' claws, Hunger and Slake, being the same lightning claws used by Corax but they also bear a resemblance to Mercy and Forgiveness, I think that their names. The claws of the Night Haunter. And I think it would be awesome if the Minotaurs are a successor chapter of the Iron Warriors. It would shed new light upon their staunch loyalty to the Imperium during the Baddab insurrection.

I got two honorable mentions of chapters that were alleged to have traitor gene-seed. First is the Red Scorpions. An almost forgettable chapter if Forge World did not have a hard-on for them. The Red Scorpions have a thing for purity, and their squads are even led by Apothecaries so their gene-seed can be properly extracted should a Marine fall in battle. Trying to analyze a sample of their gene-seed is also a problem, cause the Red Scorpions insist they answer only to the Emperor. Their combat doctrine also heavily implies they are descendants of Fulgrim, but again, we will never know. The other is the Storm Wardens, who are created by Fantasy Flight Games for their Deathwatch tabletop game. This one is more of a stretch, since the Storm Wardens have an emphasis on tech, given they have more Techmarines under their charge. However, given the Gaelic influences of the chapter (makes sense, the chapter is based on Scottish highlanders), their emphasis on martial honor and singles combat, the implication is that the Primarch of the Storm Wardens may be Angron. The Celts were enslaved to be gladiators during Roman times (matching Angron's own backstory), the Storm Wardens color scheme fits the pre-Heresy World Eaters (blue and white), and their "overwhelming force" doctrine matches the pre-Heresy War Hounds. I don't know, it's sketchy, but I like the idea of loyalist World Eaters and what could have been if Angron was not messed up from the get-go.

One clue that a Chapter is descended from a traitor legion is that, unlike most Chapters, they worship the Emperor as a god. (It's almost as if they're compensating for something…) Look through the lore, and see how many Chapters of "unknown lineage" worship the Emperor as a god. From the Badab War you have three: Red Scorpions, Star Phantoms, and Fire Hawks.

it is worth noting that the traits expressed by the Carcharadons (pale skin, black eyes) are also traits of the Raven guard, and several other traits they have (the specific organs that fail to develop, the Ash blindness, the growing of scales as they get older) are also traits of the Raven Guard geneseed. Tyberios also tested as raven guard when petitioning for his chapter to join the badab war. combined with some of the ranks and titles within the chapter matchign that of the pre-corax XIX legion, it seems likely that they are mostly Raven Guard, not nightlords. that said, i suspect they are ultimately chimerical, having supplemented their geneseed stocks with whatever they can get. they are a nomad predation fleet after all, and always low on supply. i suspect that after the badab war the probably had Mantis Warrior and Lamenters geneseed for use, having taken some from the battlefields and the mantis warrior fortress world. given their origin seems to be back during the great crusade, i would not be surprised if they didn't take traitor geneseed during the heresy (much like their brothers the renegade ashen claws did) since they wouldn't have had access to the tithe vaults at Terra like the loyalist legions and their successor chapters.
