Fantastic craftsmanship Mr. young je. I try to copy your planes but fall short of your perfection but I improve with each build. Thank you for the inspiration. 1 question... what kind of drill bit did you use at the beginning of the lever cap build? Small hole saw?

Hi. Respect for that great job👍 I´m interested in further deatails concerning the planer knife holder (adjuster). Could you tell me, if on your design with the used adjuster, you can also adjust the paralelism of the blade by tilting the adjuster? Or in other words, can you tilt the adjuster by pushing the brass wheel to the left and right, so that the knife will also be oscillated for parallel adjustment? Many thanks.
@YoungJe2 жыл бұрын
can be adjusted

I have to ask!. What is or was your profession? My reason for asking is that it's not the first time that I have watched in awe at you making a plane for woodworking, your quality and attention to detail is nothing but outstanding and the final product is alway's breathtaking to say the very least! It's not very often that we get to watch someone on KZfaq showing us the audience as much of the entire process as you do and its definitely addictive to watch!. Do you make the planes just for yourself or do you also make them to sell?
@YoungJe4 жыл бұрын
I am a retired woodworker and making a plane seems almost addictive. I do not sell.
@simonr67934 жыл бұрын
@@YoungJe watching you make the planes is fantastic and it certainly looks like you are addicted but in a very good way of course!. It's a pity that you don't make any to sell as I believe your sitting on a gold mine and any woodworker would find it a joy to own a beautiful piece of kit as you make. It's great to watch you making something by hand that will give you many many years of joy each time you use them, knowing that it's not just yet another plane that's been mass produced by a machine. Only thing left to say is I'm very envious of the talent that you have and look forward to seeing your next masterpiece !!!.
