Very informative thanks. I setup similar test, payment was accepted by PayPal sandbox but the order status shows "On hold". Shouldn't it be "Competed" like your test did.

yeah it should be "completed"

it's not clear where you see this? But in any case reachout to paypal, they should be able to help.

Something doesn’t look right. Your payment to this merchant can’t be completed using PayPal. Choose another way to pay. This is what it says when I'm trying to check out. Please help

sorry it's not clear what you mean. You can use sandbox in your code. And when you go live you need to swap it with real merch account.

in woocommerce turn it off, otherwise you won't get real money :)
