AMS 2 is probably the best-looking racing simulation on the market and also offers many in-game graphics options to create the look you want. Nevertheless, Reshade & Co. gives us options to make the game look even better or give it a very special appearance.
I'll show you two reshade filters I like and use frequently because they enhance my gaming experience. Also, I'll show you the often overlooked, but actually powerful NVIDIA filter, which - unlike some reshades - doesn't eat any GPU performance aka FPS.

How did you make Nvidia filters work in ams2? When I'm trying to open overlay with filters it says it can be applied only in supported games. And ams2 is absent in supported games list on Nvidia site

@@olvolrus At the time I was doing this video, everything worked absolutely smoothly. Can't repeat it, though, because I have switched to Radeon.

I actually started messing with Nvidia filters on my game, and the most important thing was darkening the shadows, saturating the colors a bit, and darkening the overall image with extra contrast. Makes shadows pop a bit more, and night races feel just a touch darker, as I feel headlights in AMS2 have a bit too much light pollution, and brighten up a bit too much of the surrounding area. Great idea for a video for a game that already looks great in most aspects, though!

I tried the Nvidia filters and actually found setting sepia to 40% in special effects. All other special effects turned off. This tones the colours down to what seems a more realistic level IMO.

@@kevbarber Ah, good call, might try that. I like the colors to be vibrant with the increased saturation, but I was using a couple other settings to tone them just a tad, while keeping the more eye-catching look extra saturation gives. That said, still trying to get that extra glare that the "Real Horizon" reshade has in the video. Really makes the sky pop a bit more on hot days. Shame we can't get more road reflection too, but that'd likely have to be something already in-game.

The author of the reshades should describe how to install. Normally you put it into your AMS2 main directory and select it by opening Reshade in-game with your Home key and then select the reshade file.

Warum funktionieren diese Methoden eigentlich nicht in VR? Geht doch bei Assetto Corsa auch? Wo ist das Problem? Engine?

I run it all on ultra looks amazing as is. My issue with the game is getting the ffb just right my dd feels like it's on a damper and makes turning a hit or miss even with custom ffb patch. I'm having a hard time getting it to feel heavy but without the bounce in the wheel. Hard to explain

yeah sucks with simracing, need to configure each game and according to wheel used. takes lot of time and I have had trouble as well (with other games especially)

The issue here is what is woerking on your monitor might not work on another monitor. So it's pretty difficult to share Reshade settings. I have HDR and OLED monitors so your settings would probably look bad on my setup. Just a heads up to people trying these. You'll most likely have to tweak and play around getting what you like...but these might be a good base start anyway!

1. Downloade den Filter von RD und exportiere/lege ihn in dein AMS 2 Spieleverzeichnis 2. Installiere Reshade. Wähle AMS 2 aus und weise die gewünschten FX zu. 3. Im Spiel: Drücke Pos1 für das Reshade Overlay und wähle den Filter im Spieleverzeichnis aus.
