His car finished 21th, 4th on his class.

I loved this car on project cars 2 it was the best in class. I still haven't tried any mods on ams2 yet because iam not sure if the physics will be as good as reiza cars. Great content mate 👏

Looks like someone on a thumb stick tapping it towards the left to make the turn. Other than that great video on our SCB series. Doesnt get enough coverage. Liked. Subbed.

There are thousands of combinations in AMS2, have you all played the official content to the point of boredom? All the mods I've seen so far are far behind Reiza's own developments. At least in terms of physics and force feedback. It's like collecting marbles. The balls all look different but are almost the same. This Lego sandbox process actually turns an attempted simulation into just a MatchBox children's room. Since the simulation is far from complete, you end up with a collection of cars in different phases of development where no modder is working on them any further. Nope, I won't mod until Reiza has at least completed physics. There is enough content.

@@harrysmith1986 Well, you can also keep the classes as they are and only delete the Toyota drivers in the Custom AI. Thus, and as long as there are at least as many Custom AI drivers as there are grid positions, the game will only pick the cars allocated to Custom AI entries. Drawback is that you will have to pick a multiclass session if you want to race the Panoz with other cars, meaning formally you are not racing against them on the leaderboard.

I just got AMS2 yesterday with all the DLC cause of the steam summer sale… this is my favorite sim now. I play fully in VR and the VR clarity is second to none. Even ACC falls short of the VR performance in AMS2

one thing I'm hoping Thunderflash can address in the future is the fuel rate of the panoz (half of the Reiza GT1s), and to make tires and fuel not happen together when pitting.

The Panoz has a tank of 100 ltrs. Do the Reiza cars really have 200?

@@TimoDick no they all have 100L. but the fuel usage is really low on the panoz. so the 100 liters will last twice as long

Timo! Try the JGTC as the second class. I know they didn't race together irl, but they are '90s GT sports cars, contemporary, and their performance fits as a second class. Sans the Porsche and Viper, these cars SHOULD have raced in the FIA Sportscar championship. They fit very, very well. And the ferrari F40LM, Nissan Z and Supra did in fact make an appearance at LeMans in the 90s, so it is definitely conveivable they could car, in fact, should have, raced together. Give it a try!

Actually I've spent few hours recently with GT1 only, the ONLY thing that bothers me is that GT1s are still more slidey than AC versions, AMS2 would be my favourite sim if AC did not exist... AMS2 is getting VERY close in feeling though, but lacks in connection to the surface and braking feel is really worse than AC, yet AI is much better in AMS2 and cars like RUF Yellowbird feels MUCH more believable in AMS2 than AC, and there are cars in RF2 that are better than anything else... it is difficult to be a sim racer... 😐

Absolutely agree! This class is an experience in itself and is so much fun!! For a few weeks now I've only been driving GT1s in AMS2. Unfortunately, despite your other video on how to merge two classes, I still haven't managed to merge Thunderflash's mod with those from AFry and Chrissi2174 and the AI file from J.B. Ellis. :(

The default + setting gives me a that understeer effect but it gets very hard to catch oversteer cause the damping seems to be too weak

AI still have way too much grip with slicks on a wet track compared to player. They can stay out for ages on a soaked surface, racing like on rails. Driving in changing weather conditions does not make any sense at all that way. As it has been reported a 1000 times throughout the years and nothing has been fixed, I fear that Reiza just is not able to do so.

Brilliant video Timo, I passed this along to a couple friends who are on the edge of new sim racers, not with big kit but little budget wheels or even one on controller and we enjoy meeting once or twice every month to run some laps together in AMS 2 often just practice session and having this information presented so well is always nice to show them so we can try various bits and bobs. i think you should stop using anything but the soft tires, since the AI can't use the hards. it can give you an unfair advantage over them, since they don't have that option available

@@brett22bt because... I just said. the AI can't use them. so we the player have an unfair advantage over them. so it makes for an artificial contest. maybe it's just me but I see no point in "winning" in a racing sim if I use tools my opponents don't have access to.

I tried merging the GTO class but the game crashes if I try to drive one of the GTO car now. I only changed the car class to GTO on the Auriel and Chevrette.

Hi Timo, a while ago you’ve uploaded an (amazing) video about the 1997 mod in AMS 2. Is there a way of not only grouping cars together using the method you’ve just outlined but also of splitting them?! For example that we don’t have the Formula A Gen 1 and then 538300 liveries (ie cars) but instead have different categories, something like: F1 97 with only the 97 car mods in it. Then F1 92 with only the 92 cars in it, etc. ?! AND: is there a way to actually rename the liveries? So instead of livery 02b or so renaming it to Villeneuve, Hill, Schumacher etc?! That would make it easier to create races I assume?! I hope you know what I’m trying to say? Keep up the good work and keep racing 😊

Hi, yes, afaik with this method you can group any cars together in one and the same class as long as you give them the same vehicle class name. I suggest you try it by giving the respective Fomula class the vehicle name "F1 1997", save it, repack it and install it as a separate pack, i.e without removing/uninstallign the original class. Reg. your 2nd question: Yes, of course. However, the livery name has to be the same in both XML files, the CustomAI and the one found in the vehicles/textures/overrides folder because the Custom AI XML is dependent on that.

I think when Reiza update the game this can break certain aspects of the mods such as sounds. Go and look for new versions of the mod from wherever you got the original ones and install those instead.

Glad you were able to get this sorted! As far as I remember for classes that feature low downforce versions of cars this is more difficult to do as if seperates them into a seperate class as well and I havent been able to figure out how to combine those.

Yes, I was able to put the Group C cars in the same class, including the Low DF variants. However, then the Custom AI of mod cars wouldn't work. ATM I am at a loss how to make them work in a field of original Gr C Low DF cars
