Жыл бұрынJoin us on our recent trip from Yeppoon to the Whitsundays & back in our 2400 Kevlacat Trailerboat, Heave Ho.
This trip was shorter than last year with us only being gone for just under 1 month. We were plagued by bad weather unfortunately but that didn't stop us proving you can do it safely again!
In this episode, unfortunately it's time to start heading home. We have a small window to travel south, we check out Goldsmith Island and get pumped reaching our destination of the Percy's.

Awesome video, some tough miles there through a tough area in SE conditions. Heave Ho is a solid boat that gets you home every time.

I can see yous upgrading to a sail boat. As we get older the toll gets bigger on power boats. Your videos are good , thanks

Yep.. hearing you. Plus what we are doing more of these days.. But yep, you're onto it. Heave Ho goes on the market soon and we'll be upgrading. Not sure sail or power yet though...

It becomes a much longer trip when the hills are there. I was fishing wide one day and it took an hour to get where I wanted to be but the seas lifted and it took 2.5 hours to get back. Really enjoyed the video, love following your adventures!

Yeah, and the footage just didn't do it justice so I left it out, but yeah it was pretty average.

the old reef / island boats out of Mackay were called roylen boats -might have named the bay after them

awesome vid, what top speed do the Yammies get to? Not as though you need to drive these boats full tilt

She’d do 48kts flat out, but pretty sketchy at that speed! Haha

Would having autopilot help with the long passages?

I don't believe an autopilot would be a smart decision in this sized Cat in these conditions. You really need to drive them to get the best out of the boat. Normally its a dream, but its days like this that hurt. I cut alot of the footage out as it never gives the ocean justice... plus Jill refused to film 😆
