My Art business tips - have you wanted to make money selling art online and grow your art career? To sell paintings online or any artwork can be challenging. How can you get your art website to stand out in a sea of so many other fine artists selling art online. In today's video, I'm dropping a huge secret on SEO - Search Engine optimization that I hope will help artists/painters to gain more organic traffic on their Instagram profile, as well as, gain more organic traffic from google.
Selling art online isn't easy and nor is gaining a large following on social media, but since I have implemented these changes to my website and Instagram my following went from 14,000 to 50,000 in 11 months. I also was able to get my website to rank in Google which is now bringing me organic traffic, which translates to increased visibility and more sales - worldwide. I'm an abstract painter, but I also love the business and marketing side of selling artwork. So follow along on this journey as I share with all of you what I have learned over the years.
Make sure you stay to the end as that's where I reveal my biggest tip for how to gain organic traffic through google.

Of course you're doing great with your KZfaq channel! You're like a best friend giving us advice, it feels very genuine. I also very much agree with responding to every comment someone posts in our feeds. It is almost like if you are going to a party and people greet you nicely, complement your outfit and you don't even crack a smile! Who does that? No one. You have nailed my issues about turning art into a career on the head...no one is teaching or helping others figure out their way on achieving this goal...so we all just blindly move towards the goal and away from the goal...having no real idea about what is working. I am listening to you, girl. Your confidence to just go on and on. I'm 75, been painting almost everyday for 15 years or so. I've sold several pieces at 50 cents per square inch and have increased my price just a smidge now. I absolutely love your suggestions. I detest people who come on and are trying to sell me a program for hundreds if not thousands of dollars and they will show me "a simple four step process" to blow up my sales online. But I believe you when you when you say such and such works. You ought to know. I paint what I want and have done several commissions of pets, houses etc. It's very exciting and I want to just earn enough that I can keep buying materials. Love you Lori girl. haha Somedays I'm a bit slower with responses like when I'm painting. Right now I should be painting, but I'm just not quite feeling the vibe yet. It better come soon cause I got a ton of work to get done before the weekend. and Just keep at it. sometimes insta does that I call it the rolling wave.

Thank you, Lori, for sharing what you have learned. I'm currently at the point you were some years ago, deciding to take my art journey to the next level. I have been trying to find my own style and what really resonates with me and now I have some serious work to do in getting a cohesive body of work together and then (gulp) onto the marketing! Super-scary but know I have to be brave and trust in myself and put my fears (of rejection, or whatever it is that stops me) aside. Lori, Thank you!! I had been researching how to start my own business and how to sell art on line. I have a LOT of art in all different media and subjects that’s filling my closets and walls. I was an art teacher, but now I have more time to create my own art. I am presently exploring mixed media, and more abstract art, finding an authentic style, and I am learning how to express myself with my art, rather than representing realistically. I am also doing many pastel paintings, some of which I posted on Instagram. I have only a handful of Instagram followers, and will need to work on that, in addition to creating a website. Liked and subscribed....Oh my Gosh, I'm about 6 minutes and 25 seconds into this video after just watching your first. The level of delirious hilarious is off the charts, (finished video)...all your points ended up coming off clearly and what a huge thing to reveal about renaming files...i loved this videos feel, super awesome funny and can see you getting more comfortable with your quirky/animated/maybe sleep deprived self in this video. I've only started setting up shopify so renaming the only 3 pics of art i've uploaded is gonna be easy to redo. I love it ...thanks for your info and experience. Catching your videos at the perfect time since I'm at ground zero of building career...that painting you showed in this video is super dope, no wonder you are doing well. much love, Duane.

I created myself a website back in 1999 for the purpose of selling my art online only to find out I couldn't find anyone willing to share these valuable tips with anyone else. I finally learned that without the knowledge it was just money thrown in the trash. While watching another video on youtube, your face popped up with an interesting topic so I clicked on it and have now watched almost all of your videos, subscribed, favorited many, and get excited when I get a notification of a new one. I was already doing several of the things you mentioned but not the most important ones. It's like the Universe is telling me to not give up yet (because I did). You have been like the shot in my arm needed to bring back my enthusiasm. I am now preparing to begin again - the right way. You said something in one of your videos about having your paintings ready BEFORE you begin the online journey and it hit me hard. My style has been changing over the years and has evolved into something different and my website wasn't reflecting that, because I wasn't painting enough. Blah, blah, blah. Anyway, all that aside, THANK YOU for being you! Thank you for the hard work you have done to freely share what you have learned with those of us who can't afford a $1000 course for information. I am grateful to have come across your channel! May you be blessed with fortune, good health, and happiness!

Hey Lori, I'm from the Soo too! I just came across your videos ... so many talented people from the Soo, it's incredible. Can't wait to watch all of your videos. I've been learning how to paint off and on for a few years after I kind of retired, and decided to take up painting when I couldn't find pictures for my walls that I liked. I ended up loving it (abstract) but I want to sell my stuff too, and I'm finally falling into my style. I'm running out of room to store them, lol. I'm putting up shelves to display them so I an change them up. Looking forward to learning from you.

Thank you Lori for generously sharing your knowledge with us. I am about to turn 50 in April, been an artist all my life, but am just in the last year or so thinking about selling online. Your videos are really giving me the push that I needed. I am going to TODAY start creating, and compliling previous work, into that cohesive body of art...I know this will take time, but it sure feels invigorating just thinking of what the fiuture could hold.
