Make the Most of Your Read Alouds As conversations about the science of reading increase, we cannot overlook the essential role of read alouds in building language comprehension. Based on Dr. Ness’s 2023 book Read Alouds for All Learners, this webinar aims to maximize the instructional benefits of read alouds across the content areas. The webinar covers the following:
The role of read alouds in the science of reading
The research and data around read alouds
How to plan effective read alouds through a three-step process
How to examine texts for comprehension obstacles and instructional opportunities
Ways to engage students in post-reading literacy-rich instruction, socioemotional learning, and cross-curricular extensions
