Its interesting to see someone at that high position in profession and academics talking about the existential crisis of medical education system. You have to read extra edge in non clinical subjects, remember facts for getting good ranks And if you read just what you loves and find rational than you will land up in those factual subjects option for PG. Its similar to having 60 Botany(leaves and flowers) question in NEET UG for being doctor, I am going to a college where you if you talk about what sir is discussing, your batchmates will declare you psycho, forget to speak to teacher about this. WE don't have rounds, no students want to go, faculties don't care about. That's why Love your wards series SIR, please continue it as long as possible Met SIR in last year MEDSICON Great Experience

Sir, before neetpg 2023, I was sure I will opt general medicine, got unexpectedly good rank, and started thinking of opting radiology with same concept of ‘ less input , more output’, now will reconsider my decision to go for what I like ‘ general medicine’ . Thank you sir!

Do not go behind radiology when you always thought of going into medicine…No doubt Radiology is an absolutely amazing branch where only toppers are welcomed coz you have to read a lot , But u should always go behind passion… But again what is passion coz my passion changes with time…..

@@ProfChintamani thank you so much for replying. I have a masters degree in bioengineering but every-time I watch your videos I feel like if I’d been a student of yours or even an acquaintance, It’d have been to awesome because whatever question you asked in the ward round, I knew the answers to it regardless of my degree and me randomly studying it from Bailey and Harrison’s. Thank you for the reply!

Sir with due respect you're talking about 100% efficiency .. than only input is equal to output .. 100% efficiency is only in theory not practical .... The huge amount of input we give as surgeon is being lost in engine ( govt and corporate setups) so remaining output is somewhat less .. in radiology, dermatology that engine is more efficient hence good output !! otherwise there is no match for surgeons ! There was a time when doctors only thought about patients and they would go to any extent to save them , then your passion is comes in count but now all are trying to save themselves first because of ENGINE Also these days competition is so high that you can hardly crack the exam without studying selectively which is provided by coaching institutes.. 1-2 year of doing coaching to get the desired branch is no point to be ashamed of! nobody in exams gonna ask about discharge summary, meals given( not everyone are from prestigious colleges) .. yes there are many things to learn but most of the output is lost in these nurse stuff hence (not saying low level work but just that time is of more essence ) reducing the output , coaching institutes being more efficient in this matter !! It's more about knowing what is right time for what thing. there is no black or white but grey zone it is we live in! just came across your video .. the wisdom u have given is amazing !! I'm a big fan of mahabharat and updesh given by krishna !! the way you have related to the current reality is absolutely amazing !! loved to watch this

Sir academics in medical colleges has slowly evaporated...there are no passionate teachers like you...what i have realised that there is one or two people in the department that are running department and are passionate...rest faculties are coming for attandance....and suddenly they become examiners and expect epitome of knowledge from students... that's where coaching entered...it was demand of time...earlier there were seniors who used to teach and compensate for that but now culture has changed a bit....there is a wide gap between faculty and undergraduate...yes it is a race now and undergrad have to run or else he or she will be a MO at a remote place...

Wd due respect, In my opinion the most supreme disciplines re radiology nd histopath, bcz both go beyond wat an eye an see or hand can feel. Best of luck to the topper opting fr radiology, bcz v need intelligent radiologists the most. The kind of ignorants sitting wd an ultrasound probe in hand are rubbish

I am surprised about you putting down other specialists except surgery. Without a pathologist, radiologist or interventional neurologist etc I would not optimally serve my ICU patients. The idea that surgeons are the only “real” doctors is an outdated concept. Taking care of patients is a Team Sport, no one person is better than other. You are doing a disservice to your students. No disrespect meant just an observation.

Sir.. now a days even if u have good mbbs knowledge but can't score good rank in neet pg...u will be considered as a GARBAGE , which is somehow true statement...no matter how good doctor u are...by the way sir u must update ur knowledge on today's practical situation rather being so harsh

You may be good surgeon..so what.... Sir with due respect first update your knowledge on NEET pg and getting top rank is a huge achievement which a below average ug student can't afford... students who can't get good rank in neet..only have the capacity of jealousing top rankers
