Because they simply don't know why they are there, or what is going on, not many understand what the Guard is saying, or that when they freeze, he or she will barge into them - because they are in the way of the Guards round or route. Its like a form of hysteria.

@@lauren6889 surely if they are going to holiday in England, you would think that after planning to look around our landmarks and places of history, that they would at least try to ascertain what happens at a certain tourist attraction and why. I went to Turkey a few years ago and I didn’t just want to be a sun lounger, I wanted to walk around. So I checked the local area, checked where was safe, what I could and could not do while visiting a mosque, checked the rules etc. Then I knew where in Turkey I wanted to stay and abided by the laws of their land. There was no way I would have laughed at a policeman never mind a soldier. It would have been plain disrespectful and being from England I made sure to use my manners and tried to learn some of the language to get me by. Yes we had great fun in certain areas and laughed so much because of what we were doing at the time, such as at the beach and when the locals would buy us coffee and sit and laugh with us. We knew the boundaries. If these people wanted an amusement park then there a few around England and they could laugh till their hearts content. What do we need, to fill the fences with notices in 100’s of different languages? No that would look awful, however I think signs to the museum could be better, that way they will learn so much and come out understanding what the Guards are there for and that they are actual soldiers. The problem is that they really do think it’s an amusement, I bet some kids even go back to the hotel upset because Princess Elsa didn’t turn up or Mickey and Minnie were nowhere to be seen.
