Hey Steve, great video! I was wondering if the BMS board you picked up does active balancing or only when the cells exceed 4.2V? Because similar boards have charging protection set to 4.28V before it cuts out - which is quite high. Thanks!

I used the same bms and connected it the same way with this built but it won’t charge. Every time I plugged in the charger the input and output read the voltage of the battery pack instead. Any helps would be nice

I’m kinda dumb and I just built a 4 cell battery with a output of 16v and 4 amps when fully charged. Then I attacked my BMS once I did that it can’t seam to charge or run anything. The specifications for it was working current 30 amps. Does that mean that I need 30 amps to run it?

If you balance charge 2s2p (4 cells), 3s2p(6 cells), or 4s2p(8 cells), will the balance charger charge every cell or will count each parallel pair as a single cell when using 18650"s ?

i made a 1P4S Li-ion battery pack using exactly the same BMS on this video for my handheld vacuum but works only for about 2 seconds everytime i turn it on. what's surprising is it will run continuously if i use a smaller wire size (~AWG22) from P+ of the BMS to the switch terminal but the wire gets hot though. is my BMS faulty? i measured the resistance of the smaller wire and the original wire and got 0.8 and 0.4 ohm respectively. is it a significant difference? please help and thank you in advance.

this bms is fail on load. drop some voltage and curent. so chep make it's easy damage BMS.

What is your power need,what are you wanting to power (voltage,amperage,etc). If your power need is 48v then you need to know the amperage (or wattage needed),if your voltage need is smaller (say 12v) you can build a 4s3p (or 3s4p,but will only supply 12v when fully charged. Meaning you will need to keep the battery fully charged in order to use it.) and step the 14.8v down to 12v with a step down module. If I knew your power needs (voltage,amperage,wattage.) I might could help a little more.

your bms wiring seems incorrect. B3+ should be in the third pair of cells.

Bajaj Sahab just keep making it bigger. If you need a video on how to make one maybe this project isn’t the right way for you. There are lots of kits that will allow you to do the same without the hassle of soldering and making hard connections.

Yep. Just put 13 cells in series, and 50 in parallel if you can. However, you would need over 100+cells to do this.

The video main purpose is to show how to build 4s2p battery... but it only shows what you are doing...lack of explanation and information, which wire goes to and no info about spot welding a tabbing strip to a battery, you should tells us more how the series or parallel has been executed on a battery.
