This Video is how I make my Round Ice Blocks for my Fujimarca SE 709 V2. These are the same ice blocks that can be Used with any vertical Ice Shaver such as Swan, Fujimarca, and Hatsuyuki. The process I use is explained in the video, if you have further questions comment below and I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. Thanks for watching!

How do you use them... after removing from the freezer... do you run water over the bucket to thaw? Or let them just set out a little bit? Im concerened of cracking the mold? Ty

I seen this video several times! I tried many molds but all seem to crack! I finally found molds that work and i now have over 80 block on hand everyday! Its beautiful! This video inspired me!

We found that by freezing them ice blocks slower we have reduced breakage tremendously. Unfortunately, we have 1 freezer set to 8 degrees to freeze and another for store after they are frozen.

Hi... How do You prevent ice from melting? Like You know i tried freezing and it melts very fast when i shaved it? Like i didnt even get any pieces to prepare shaved ice recipe. Should i add some ingredient to water before freezing?

Have you ever had trouble with your containers beveling out at the bottom when you freeze them stacked on top of each other? We've been having to freeze ours in single layers to avoid this but I'd love to solve that problem so we can increase our capacity! Thanks!

I called the place in Ogden UT where he said he got the containers but they said they did not have anything that would work...I'm also looking for a good container that is tougher.

Thank you for a great video.. so my blocks are uneven and cracked. wondering if it is because the freezer is too cold? If I try to chip away to even the block out the whole block just comes apart. Any suggestions?

Make sure to freeze it level and filter the water this will help. I also set my freezer at a 4. Some will crack regardless i still use them though.

Hi. May i ask will the ice block cracks when you shave them? Mine cracks somehow. But i used steel bowl to make ice block and in the similar freezer to freeze

depends how sturdy the ice is. It's best the ice is harder and more frozen, for up to 12-24 hours

How come no matter what I do no matter what temperature I freeze at I get cracked ice? I've tried freezing in a deep freeze chest freezer and then use the warmer temperature at 8 degrees Fahrenheit still no luck every single time my buckets of ice crack in the center

try to let the ice harden for 12-24 hours, blocks can be very fragile so you have to be extremely careful, look at other yt videos it might help

I’m not sure I’ve only had vertical shavers. I would just make sure they are a little tapered so the block will come out

First time freezing own ice. Freezer only going down to 15-20 degrees. Is this a problem? After 2 days ice still has water bubble in the middle.

It seems like they freeze faster when there are more frozen blocks in the freezer. The mass of the frozen blocks speed up the freezing process

I have the freezer at a 4. I have found that cracking comes from moving the block while its freezing or over filling the container. Also a good filtration system helps.

How do you pull out the ice from the container, do you have to break it the container?

I pull the block out of the freezer and let it sit on the table and melt for a minute and then i remove the block. Usually the container doesn't break. Once in a while the container will break but most of the time that is from overfilling the container.

Hi, I have watched this video several times! Thanks for the help! Would you share what temperature your freezer is at? I have read it is better to freeze them quickly, but some places say to freeze it slowly. I am not having luck with my blocks at home. They have lots of cracks and aren't clear and solid.

My freezer is set between 3-4. One of the reasons I use 1/2 gallon over 1 gallon containers is they freeze faster. Try filtered water that might help with cracks.

Yes sometimes it will crack. I have found that you want to leave some space in the container for expansion so don't fill it all the way up and filtering the water can also prevent cracking.

Hi! This may be a silly question, but the water that goes into the tank is it just tap water? And do you keep refilling the tank or does it automatically refill?

The tap water goes through the 5 stage reverse osmosis system and fills the tank. The tank is filled and the filtered reverse osmosis water is available on demand.

They are a 64oz container. I've seen them on ebay and amazon. I buy them locally in a case of 144 for about $1.00 each. I think if you buy 12 on ebay they are $2 each.

I use a chest freezer. I had a great northern. Its okay to start with but i would just pay a little more and get a Fujimarca. You can check out my other videos i review a tiger claw shaver which is the same as a great northern and i also review the fujimarca.

I believe to help against cracking you need to use filtered water, don’t overfill container and the container needs to be level

Mine crack when I overfill them or move them while freezing. I also use filtered water which I think helps limit cracking.

Yes I can freeze a few blocks in less time but when I’m constantly pulling and putting new blocks in the time takes longer.

I let them temper on the counter. if you get behind on pulling them out of the freezer you can run them under water.

Do you leave the ice block in the ice shaver machine at all times when the business is open, or you put it back in the freezer after you shave ice to make a shaved ice cone, if you leave it in the ice shaver machine, does it melt downs quickly, or stays frozen for most of the time? thank you much.

No just filtered water. I filter it with a reverse osmosis system.

What are the disadvantages of reverse osmosis? One of the major disadvantages of RO systems for the home is that they remove most of the minerals from the water leaving it with an acidic pH. Also, during the purification process, up to 20 gal of water is flushed down the drain for every gallon of filtered water produced. If I want to open a shaved ice business, should I buy gallons of filtered water, or should I install the RO osmosis system to make the blocks and make the syrups? thank you very much.

I’m not sure. I wanted a filter that removed chlorine and fluoride. I’m sure there are other options. This works for me.
