Starting with the 1.2.0 community version of MakeHuman, it is possible to copy a toon directly into Blender from MakeHuman, without having to first export it to a file. This video demonstrates how to enable this functionality and points at some of the related features.

This is great. Please consider the compability with the rigify addon, as an export option maybe . (I know mhx2 can apply rigify rig, but it is somewhat modified preset, not the standard one)

I managed to get MakeHuman 1.2.0 Alpha 3 working with an older version of the MHX2 in Blender 2.8 as far as the visemes are concerned. I hope there's work in progress going forward as far as the 'Moho Load' option to run Papagayo dat files via Blender 2.8, if not I'll just keep doing it how I figured the work around for such. Thanks for all you guys and gals have done thus far. Amazing times for 3D artists, modelers and animators.

Thanks for the explanation, it worked fine for me, I didn't know how to use this plugin, I thought it was very good, so I can create a character, and use it in blender without having to save the file before, very good ^^

There have been some comments about the plugin not working on the latest builds of 2.80. We have been unable to reproduce this issue, and the comments seem to have been removed. If you still have problems of this kind, please refer to this issue: github.com/makehumancommunity/makehuman-plugin-for-blender/issues/44

4:38 Have you thought of using D-Bus? If you connect only on the session bus, that automatically restricts access to other processes which are part of the same GUI session.

Great to have something like makehuman for free but as a developer i never use it since character look weird or very similar even with changing lot of settings, anyone can easily identified if it was make with MH.The crotch area is also very weird since character look like they are riding a horse. I sincerely tried to use it but could not get the result i was after.

That's what's putting me off. The characters look odd. I'm very tempted to get Character Creator 3, especially as it is in a sale right now. I would much prefer to support a fully open source project. Hmm, decisions, decisions, decisions! Maybe I'll buy CC3 anyway, but keep a close eye on MH. I did go from many years with Maya to 100% on Blender, and love it. Really did not like Blender way back, but absolutely love it now!

You should see what I've tossed up regarding customized characters via MakeHuman. I have learned to morph them far away from the standard default models that can be generated with the default sliders out on MakeHuman.

Try using the 'custom' targets option and 'random' option in conjunction with reshaping the contours of your models face, lips, chin, etc... Takes a bit to rework and usage of community assets for sure, but the end products are well worth it in the end. I'll eventually try to showcase my full MakeHuman to Blender customized character pipeline I been developing. If you take your time and don't rush things you'll eventually realize that MakeHuman is an awesome base mesh 3D human avatar creator tool. You can use the OBJ files created from such and reshape that models vertices how you see fit as well. That's the truest power of such a auto character generator in my eyes. Wish I was more skilled in the 3D modeling department though, as I could then really take things to that next level using such a awesome tool.
