I went to the store and asked to buy some Alinenen tape/foil as you suggested. They sold me a “How to speak English” language book. Now I can communicate effectively. 👍🏼

I keep forgetting that passports are chipped these days 😅I also didn't realize that type of key fob could be read like that, though it made sense as soon as you said- like, of course it has to work somehow! Thanks for sharing, I definitely learned something :)

Want to be sure it will work you need to ground the bag. Reason is bc an EMP/Solar flares are 100’s-10,000 times stronger than a radio/ cell phone signal. You must ground your faraday bag. I love the methods you used and cheap materials. Thank you it is very informative. If not sure how to ground your Faraday box/bags just run any heavy gauge copper wire from any old household item like broken vacuum/ washer dryer/ stove/ or strip smaller cords from all plastic and twist together to get a heavier gage copper wire. Make sure the wire is contacting the outside of the foil / steel and run to piece of copper or rebar that is hammered in the ground. This will divert the energy away from your box/bag to the ground. If have an older radiator heating in your house you can connect it to the pipes or any electric outlet. Any of those would work. Just make sure you turn off your main power to your house if you try using a regular house outlet. I don’t recommend doing that unless you have a professional electrician certify it is done correctly and no one will trip over it or get shocked by incorrectly grounding from an outlet. Easiest way is to hammer a 2’-3’foot piece copper/steel into the ground and secure the wire to it.

Ricky, great point about grounding the bags, just makes them less portable sometimes.

You can also use rare earth magnets to seal the lip closed like in our faraday bag: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oMyDmJCp3re1qps.html

why do you need one for your passport?
@MakeItorBreakItNow
@MakeItorBreakItNow 3 жыл бұрын
because the new passports have chips in them that can be read by hackers in airports, train stations, etc.

Even if you do make a Faraday cage that protects your devices, you are still missing one key essential item that you will never get to make them truly worth investing time and money into. Preppers can't think far enough outside the box to realize what it is they are missing.

Maybe... its kind of illegal to set off an EMP in my area to test. I did get a comment from another readers who suggested adding a wire ground to these which makes sense to me and would make them more "EMP" proof.

In American English it’s correct to say “allu me num” compared to the British “allu mee neeum”. But the video maker said alluneemum all the time which sounded a bit odd.
