I’m so sorry to hear this, but you’re totally on the right side of it! I went through near enough the exact same breakup, we were together for 6 years since we were 17 and we grew as people together and the feeling of the loss doesn’t go away but the strength of being on your own is completely unmeasurable. Eventually you’ll be grateful for him, not the relationship or the breakup but for the person you have become since being without him x

This video couldn’t have come at a better time. My boyfriend broke up with me three weeks ago, and I was blindsided. It was on a Tuesday, 9 PM at night and I’ve just been grieving since. It’s strange how you can go from best friends to strangers with someone, in an instant. It was so sudden and we’ve had no contact since that night. It’s hard because the one person I want to talk to about it all is HIM. Yet, it’s just me to sort out all the pieces that have been left. I will say, each day it’s getting better. I always tend to do that when I've come out the other end of a transition period- change my hair. It's not intentional, but the life change I go through always puts me into the mood to express that change through my look. The hair change doesn't change the way you feel but it expresses a change in you that is already taking place. That's how it seems for me anyway

The way your were talking about the breakup etc is SO relatable to me. I was with someone for 8 years similar thing then all of a sudden it was over and I never saw it coming. It literally is like they just died and you grieve like crazy. I've never felt pain like it and hope to never again but it is hard to go from all to nothing like that person may aswell be dead to me they don't exist in my life anymore and it's crazy, maybe scary too that people can just disappear like that.. its hard but like you say you're seeing things for as they are now and you will move forward and upwards for that matter! Its so hard when you’ve been together since you were young because it gets to a point where you feel like you can’t really remember yourself or your life without them. It’s a different type of loss, who you were leaves too. It’s very sad honestly. It might be worse when you both aren’t happy but you love each other and are too codependent to leave so you are just in the cycle of splitting up and getting back together.
