I have really cut new purchases this year …and am down to a curated make up collection …but like you I allow a larger number of lipstick …I have it down to …. 1 Primer 1 concealer 2 foundations a medium to full buildable coverage and a cushion make up for top up on the go .( both Clarins) 1 tinted make up SPF 50 for the summer ( la Roche Posay ) One cream bronzer ( Milk make up ) Four blushers ….two cream/ two watercolour ( Aimee connelly and Daniel Sandlier) lol been a bit of a blushaholic in the past working through it lol I have dry skin and don’t use powders of any kind, pressed loose or even highlighters or have none !! 2 CT eye quads / 2 Clarins Eye quad / a small Mac mini 9 colour palette /and 1 single cream shadow pot in nude I use with coloured eye pencil for simple look .. Waterproof eye pencils 3 …brown green and burgundy… Eyebrow pencil 1 NYX brown . 2 mascaras a Lancôme mini and a Clarins full size. 3 lip pencils brown/pink ( CT essence brand ) 3 Lip oils ( all Clarins fabulous lip oil imho) 11 lipsticks ( CT Lancôme Revlon and Clarins ) 1 make fix setting spray I need to work on my skincare this year and curate a routine I have LOTS of products ….I am thinking of doing this only purchase to replace you are doing in 2024 …a great idea ! !

My idea is to use money I'd normally use on multiples of different skincare/makeup on other things that are more important in my life. I don't need to keep changing up when a certain product already works for me. There are some things that are more important like building my savings account and paying for life insurance.

Replacement-only-no-buy is such a cool thing! I'm only halfway through switching to this method😅 I've sorted all my makeup into categories (eyebrows, face, cheeks, etc.) and it was quite easy to figure out what I really need in some categories like eyebrows, but when it comes to eyes and lips... Damn, that's too hard! I don't use it all but I want it all and more😂

Low buy with a budget for me. It funny cause 50 pounds is close to $60 US dollars which is the limit I gave myself as well. I also made some clear guidelines for myself and cataloged my makeup to track usage. I wish you well with your plans for 2024!

I just did a make up and self care inventory. My collection is worth £1600. I was shook. Doing a replacement only no-buy too.

7:22 By the way, Givenchy have some amazing powders (Prisme Libre series), they're all loose but they're worth it! They also have Prisme Libre loose blush, a really interesting product though!

I’m on a journey in a similar vein as you are describing. My 2023 has been similar with evolving wardrobe and makeup. I’ve already decided on a 2024 no buy. I’ve specified a couple of things I’m allowing purchases of. I’m looking forward to the creativity of mixing my favorites. Worth a mention, products other than foundation are recommended to discard for age.

Boredom will certainly set in so I will have to get creative with my own makeup items. Also, skin and body care is tricky because needs change in different seasons. I have been trying to follow dermatologists for drugstore recommendations. Hair care: my stylist has recommended that I personally only need shampoo, conditioner, Oribe dry texture spray and Hyperlink pomade. I recently unsubscribed to a couple hair channels that were leading me down the path of making bad product choices….that I then have to go through the bother of using up. My stylist suggested that I just try to use up one of the “bad” ones at a time and eventually I will be down to my good ones only.

I will be on a replacement only next year as well. I haven’t one hundred percent decided on my goals for next year and what to do. Currently playing with the thought of setting up a blog to keep me accountable and trying to figure out how I want to set it up. But I am generally committed to a year of less and being a more conscious consumer. I really like your lipstick with your shirt.
