I made this cake for my daughter Everlee's 4th Birthday. She wanted a butterfly cake and her favorite colors are pink and purple.
To make this cake I doctored up a boxed cake mix. Every time I use a box I add a package of pudding mix to it. It keeps the cake super moist. After that you just follow the box directions and it will turn out perfect every time. For my buttercream I follow the ratio 4 sticks of butter to 32 oz. of powdered sugar. If you are making a 13X9 you can probably get away with cutting that in half and doing two sticks of butter and half a bag, or 16 oz. of powdered sugar.
